Foodbox kebab — Restaurant in Riga

This place brings back nostalgia every time. Back in school, my classmates and I often came here to eat. It's been several years since we graduated, and now I've found myself back in this wonderful place. I decided to order what I used to get on days when I was really hungry - a kebab in bread with potatoes. The kebab is just as good as ever; all these years haven't made it any worse, and the sauces still have their amazing flavor. The potatoes are crispy and coated in spices. The only thing that's changed since school is that the spicy seasoning on every table doesn't seem as hot anymore. But that's just because we've grown up.

This place is known for good value for money kebabs. In order to compare different places I like to choose a classic chicken wrap kebab in lavash (paper thin plain bread). Here it comes with a basic salad with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, sauerkraut, red cabbage, lettuce, finely chopped herbs (parsley, coriander) and sauce. Once rapped it is grilled to give the bread crunchy texture and signature grill marks. Then it is packed in foil. I chose hot sauce and added extra Harissa paste. Serving size is good and fair for the price I paid (5 EUR).

The taste is classic, but doesn't excite me. Good value for money, good level of quality, but nothing that makes it memorable or stand out from hundreds of other kebabs out there.

You can pay only in cash, if you still want to place an order with your card, then you should better use bolt food, since the prices there are the same. The staff recommended us to place an offer through their website, and there was a fee for paying with card, lol(around a euro). We’ve ordered two special kebabs, and they were food, but not worth 8.5 euros each, since they are pretty small. Will not come back, but the place was really full with customers who ordered something on plates, so they might know menu better than I did 🙉 The option with a free tea is great, but no one offered us to have some.
