FUNNY FOX SPORTS, KARAOKE PUB/BAR — Restaurant in Riga

So, I was very kindly asked if I would like to make a Google review for this bar. I believe this is the second google review I have ever made in my life and I am absolutely honored to be doing it for the Funny Fox. I have lived and worked in many countries in my life and this is by far one of the best bars I have ever been to. The people that work there are incredibly kind and really have made an atmosphere unparalleled to any other. Great drinks, great people and great karaoke. I was only in Latvia for a few days, but every night I knew exactly where to go. I am incredibly grateful to all the staff of the Funny Fox and know that this is a place, if you are a lone traveler, you will leave this establishment with more friends than you came into Riga with. In fact, I met someone from a different country my last night there who said they had a friend that passed away. Before that friend died, they recommended the Funny Fox as the top place to go in Riga. We got to honor his friend’s memory and I know there is no better place in the world to do so than here. A very, very big "paldies" to all of the workers there and I am looking forward to the next time I am in Riga just to hang out at the number #1 bar in all of Europe. If you’re a local, it’s perfect. I must admit the place should not be visited by foreigners. They rely on foreigners to pickpocket you, or giving you the most expensive vodka on the shelf even if you say you want the cheapest one. Furthermore, the next day in the night I passed by at around 2:00 AM, since I was craving for some kebab. However, when I looked, some Englishmen were talking to the bouncer, and the next thing I know was the Englishmen and I getting peppersprayed. I don't know why the heck he would pepperspray me as well, but the doorman was obviously bad at his job. I was on my own, since my friends were sleeping at a hostel, so at this moment I could not see a thing and just stopped for a minute trying to clear my eyes. Unluckily for me nobody was there to help me while I was craving to get some help. The next thing I remember is a guy on a bicycle helped me up and offered me a ride home for free. It was like 5:00 AM and I do not remember what happened while peppersprayed, besides someone passing by and stealing my phone. All because of an idiot bouncer.

hello everybody here! Its pity to write this, because I really love this place, BUT. After few years I came to this place, after a lot of money that I spend there, after a great atmosphere that this place gave to me I am really disappointed. Another day my friend came to this bar and was simply thrown out of there like a piece of garbage, only because the security guard of the establishment did not like who he was. Despite the fact that he was not drunk and we remember very well how the guard used obscene language in my friend direction and threatened us with violence, only because he forgot the documents. This situation simply became catharsis for us. The place is old and everyone in Riga has nostalgia for it, and the evenings spent there I can count in a hundred, and therefore I am doubly offended why they did this to me...
