We stayed at this hotel a few times but the level of service became worse and worse. The location is all right but even the budget room price does not compensate for the bad experience which you will face. First of all, it is definitely not 4* hotel, maximum 3* if you will be lucky enough to get a good room. The room itself is small, the bed setting uncomfortable and the room is terribly dirty. Even when the room is "Ready" doesn't mean that it is clean. Upon check in we found a row of empty bottles and cans behind the entrance door from previous guests. The water in shower doesn't drain. We talked about it several times but nothing was done. The breakfast is the same every morning and the breakfast area is so small that it is impossible to squeeze between tables. The coffee maker is so old that it is hardly working and coffee is awful and cheap. The staff is so hopeless that they are lying intentionally. If you forget something do not hope to get it back. Our previous stay we left jewelry in the room and contacted the Hotel straight away after check out. They nicely replied that everything was found and we can collect jewelry upon our next stay. I called the hotel three weeks before arrival and asked to prepare our stuff, which has been promised. But upon arrival I was told that they never confirmed anything (even I had written confirmation), later on that it was not my jewelry that they found and lastly that they have no time to deal with my request. so absolutely helpless, rude and lying staff. We spoke to the manager who promised to resolve it but as usual...
Read moreSo the location is the most best of this place as its right across the street from Bus station and kinda in old town of Riga. Room was decent and even amenities. The receptionist Aleksandrs needs to get training on hospitality and tone down his old grumpy man attitude. As I have been working in hospitality for over a decade I know how important and nice it is when the person serving you has nice manners and is friendly. This man was even saying "I think the paint splashes on the walls are not paintings just decor" - I would never talk such a nonsense about business where I work. And what kind of attitude he showed me when I came down confused - there is a room 31 and 331 on same floor, a bit stupid right, why it would be there unless there are three hundred rooms on same floor, but the receptionist in a very rude manner said "you must have been trying room 332, Im not that kind of man to try completely wrong numbers. After demeaning me as a school boy that there are rooms 31 and 331 he still had attitude and no greeting or thanking for stay. If he was in abroad he would have HR meeting and be trained how to talk to customers. Hes place is in basement with other old, dusty things, like his manner and presentation of himself. Hope this will be read by owners and people thinking of staying there. Very disappointed about fellow...
Read more• The location is undoubtedly great! We just walked to the hotel from the bus station. Despite the nearby train and tram lines, I found the place quiet, perhaps because of the season. Otherwise, the summer terrace under the windows could add some noise. • My husband noted the hotel's design, especially the room's dark tones. • The personnel were friendly and polite. They let us check in earlier, which was quite comfortable for us. • The bed is comfortable. I appreciate that it was a king-size mattress, not the two mattresses put together, as usual. Speaking of mattresses, ours was relatively good, meaning we didn't have sore backs in the mornings.
Disliked • I personally didn't like that the room was quite dark in the daylight. The light itself was kind of dark in the room. I would appreciate the brighter light at least in the bathroom. • Also, from the corridor, I could hear the working vacuum cleaner. • My husband noted that the electric appliances, such as the hair dryer and sockets and switches, are located in the bath zone, which is undoubtedly hazardous. • I think that the bathtub wasn't crispy clean. And the drain didn't work well, even...
