First time I encounter such a behaviour in a coffee shop. I enter, I say good morning (even in Latvian) , no good morning back from the waitress and then I order. I pay, no "thank you" for my payment and I say bye. Of course, no "bye" back from the waitress. And all this with an expression in her face as if she was telling me "oh, give me a break you stranger with your coffee". It's just common kindness people. It doesn't hurt. You don't have to smile or be cheerful when you're working, just the basic kindness. PS: coffee was decent but expensive for taking it away. 3,5 for a cappuccino to take away? Read moreAtmosphere is really lovely - they have done their best with the interior decorations and entrance. Food is really good, well seasoned and at a fair price comparing to nearby coffee shops. Staff is really helpful and kind to everyone. They also speak english, so the coffee shop is welcoming to anyone. The place also serves alcohol and coctails, which might not appear to be the case looking at the sign outside, but the option is available. Read moreAfter over 30 minute wait (even though there were barely any clients) I received chicken salad but the chicken was BAD. At first I thought it is some weird topping they put on it but the meat smelled and tasted terribly. Its my first day sighting Riga and unfortunately I already started to feel unwell.
Not to mention in the restaurant next door there was a very loud and drunk group of men screaming and yelling the whole time which ruined the only good thing about the restaurant- the atmosphere.
