-For context, the restaurant was about 30-50% full. On a Saturday ~late afternoon *Waiter kept asking us if we're ready to order, when we repeatedly said that we are waiting for last people to arrive. *When ordering a bottle of wine, no separate wine glasses were given. people were expected to use the wine glasses there were initially on the table (they are intended for table water! Unless you blankly expect almost 10 people at the table to all drink wine) *Some of the dishes arrived cold and sooner / later than other dishes. Making people uncomfortable with whether they should eat or wait. *The staff would pick up the empty plates but leave the empty glasses ( that were sorted neatly at the start of the table for their convenience) *The lock on men's bathroom was broken. The bathroom was spacious, which is good, but you can't even reach back to hold the door by hand or foot. So each time i visited the bathroom, it was a gamble if i will be "caught" with my junk out.... *The cocktails are beautiful, probably some of the best i have seen in Kaunas, but stuffed with ice to make them look bigger than they are ( to be fair, this is done everywhere) *They managed to stick a paper straw into a hot drink, which is a cardinal sin. Paper straws melt in hot drinks which happened to one person who ordered it. Even trainees at basic bakeries or cofee shops know not to do that.
The food was presented beautifully, but the taste was somewhat lacking.
All in all, the place looked very nice, but the service was far from professional and the food was ~passable quality - out of 8 people at our table 2 were able to say that they enjoyed their food with no reservations, other either found it lacking or had some sort of...
Read moreWe visited Soul in Kaunas — and it was truly a gastronomic delight. The dish, served under a glass dome filled with aromatic smoke, impressed not only visually but also with its incredible taste. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender, accompanied by a flavorful sauce, crisp green beans, and a baked potato topped with a creamy dressing — everything was well-balanced and delicious.
The presentation deserves a special mention — it’s clear that attention is given not only to taste but also to visual appeal. The service was polite and attentive, with staff who knew the menu well and were happy to offer recommendations. The prices were surprisingly reasonable — the quality far exceeded expectations at this price point.
Soul is located in the pedestrian zone on the city’s main street, among many other restaurants. But this place truly stands out — offering an experience that captures the real flavor of Kaunas in its food, ambiance, and service. If you’re in the city, this is definitely a spot worth visiting to make your stay...
Read moreLaisves Avenue is undoubtedly the real artery of Kaunas, where the concentration of food outlets is the highest. At the same time, when you are not looking for anything specific, it usually happens that the place chooses you. This is exactly what happened to us with Soul.Laisvė. We stopped by for a late lunch and … ? We ate and left and that is all about it. The memory is such that this is another place that we will forget tomorrow. The taste is normal, the service is normal, the interior is pretentious, but normal. The burger was normal, but the promised teriyaki, like the meat, is spared. The mussels were tasty, but the sauce is small and there are more unopened clams than usual. All other things are...
