Katpėdėlė — Restaurant in Vilnius

I am very disappointed. I have been here before and this wasn’t a problem before, but this time we were waiting for an hour and our food was still not delivered. We came to the restaurant at 6:34pm and our waiter came to get our order. He came really quick and we haven’t even decided yet what we will order it was like 2-3 min after we just sat… then he didn’t come back, we ordered through a different waiter that was working on the other table. The food wasn’t delivered on time my potato pancakes were cold and the sauce already started to dry on top. The meal were also mixed up we ordered a feta shrimp salad we got a Caesar salad with some shrimp the other person got what they wanted but the waiter didn’t even hear out about the sauce being swaped to garlic sauce (we asked if that is possible she said she will ask but we didn’t get an answer). Also when the food eventually did arrive (after multiple requests) we didn’t have our cutlery to actually eat it…. We were very disappointed and even though we got a small discount for the inconvenience it is really overpriced...

BRING YOUR OWN LEMONS!

Shocked by the petty charge on the bill! Food was OK, nice restaurant and good staff. Reasonable prices for meals. What is absolutely shocking though, is when the bill came and we were charged 50cents for a slice of lemon for the drink! This is completely insane to be charged about 12% of the price of the beer for a garnish. Having over 10yrs experience in all levels of hospitality, never have I once seen a place charging for such things! Next time will be sure to bring our own garnish. There are certain things that bars and restaurants should be writing off as expected loss & fruits/garnish is one of them. Do you also charge for the sugar with coffee? 50cents is not going to break the bank by any means, but seeing a place charge for a slice of lemons makes it look very bad, petty and tacky! Disappointing, but it did give us a good laugh at how bizarre and ridiculous...

Horrible experience. I’ll break it down:

1. We’ve been waiting to make an order for 30 minutes. Once we made an order we have waited for drinks another 30 min and food for 100 minutes! Like basically it works the way, you order or request something like additional drink or bill or fork and knife, you have to wait for 20-30 min.
2. food was cold, I’ve ordered a soup with mushrooms and it felt like it was outside for 15 min waiting to get to me from kitchen. Same story with snacks, and with main course (potato pancakes).
3. It was cold inside the restaurant, the went worked too hard and my family had to wear coats and I was wearing scarf
4. we visited it with our relatively small dog (12kg) and there was no water offered for us. So what can I say, if you were brought to this place, and you are waiting for making an order, leave before...
