Let's start with the positives - the atmosphere is really nice (soft music, glowy lighting), while the staff is attentive. Unfortunately, the food and drink is average. We ordered a salmon tartar (17 EUR) which was bland, no pronounced taste whatsoever. It could have benefited from a little bit of acidity or even salt and less dressing (the dressing itselft was some sort of mayonaise base which I don't think is best suited for a tartar). The mushroom rigatoni (17 EUR) tasted quite nice but it is not a particularly difficult dish to prepare (and it would be quite hard to ruin it). The rigatoni was prepared with some oyster mushoorms, different cheeses and truffle flavoured oil. To be honest, I expected a couple of shavings of a real truffle rather than truffle-flavoured oil. Now the drinks is what I had a problem with. None of the coctails (except for a margarita as far as I remember) have the main spirit listed out in the menu. The main spirit for a margarita was Sierra which is probably the cheapest tequila brand you can find. For a 10 EUR cocktail I expected at least Jose Cuervo (let alone Don Julio or Patron which sometimes you can actually get in the same cocktail for the same price in other bars). So I chose a whiskey sour which was pretty bad. It was poured into a stemmed glass which not at all suitable for this drink (whiskey sour is served in a short tumbler glass). The waiter had issues with serving me the drink, he wiped the glass with a tissue because the drink was spilling over. I had difficulty not to spill the drink myself. The taste was off too: the egg white foam was not stiff enough (perhaps the barman did not do a dry shake for long enough?), the cocktail was way too sweet (they should have called it whiskey sweet not whiskey sour), so the experience was not good. If you are serving classic cocktails PLEASE make them in a way where they resemble classic cocktails. I don't want whiskey sweet in a stemmed glass when I'm getting a whiskey sour. Overall, some improvement is needed at Motif, especially with...
Read moreOverhyped through influencers! Worst service I have ever seen in a restaurant.
The server was never present at our table even though it was right next to their waiter station. We could see other tables not being attended either. After finally placing our order, we waited 20 minutes for our wine. Water was never refilled even after asking multiple times. After 40 minutes of waiting (the restaurant was not busy at all), the server came and said that they dont have 2 of the dishes that our group has ordered. So we quickly changed the order. Thats where it got chaotic - they just started bring starters in a very strange order, one at a time (even though they werent sharing starters). Semi-frozen tuna and warm ceviche did not surprise to start with. Mains took another 45 minutes. When we wanted to order more wine, the server always tried to avoid us. When asked if we can order, he just took half the order and ran away again. When asked if he can take the order all at once so we can enjoy our time instead of hunting for anyone to serve us, he just said OK in a rude manner. Other servers didnt even look at our table and we could see that they did not enjoy the night in the restaurant either. Strange evening perhaps? At least all of them were leaving the kitchen very happy and smiling.
Main dishes were ok but nothing impressive (perhaps the mood influenced the flavors as well)
I would never recommend such an experience and would rather spend the money on all the other great restaurants in Vilnius where you will be treated well.
Very disappointing and I do hope that the management of the restaurant will fix the...
Read moreA Delightful Experience!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at MOTIF, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that set the perfect mood for a relaxed evening.
The menu offered a wonderful variety of dishes, catering to different tastes and preferences. I started with the sea bass crudo, which was a delightful blend of flavors and textures, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. For the main course, I opted for the mushroom ravioli, which was nothing short of perfection. The ingredients were fresh, and each bite was bursting with flavor.
The dessert menu was equally impressive. I highly recommend trying the New York cheesecake, which was a decadent and satisfying end to a fantastic meal.
As for the drinks, the selection is also diverse (wine and cocktails), offering an excellent range of international options.
To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Robert was very attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly.
Overall, if you want to enjoy a great meal, this restaurant is a must-visit. I will definitely be...
