福州驿站 Foochow Estay Cafe, Padungan — Restaurant in Borneo

A simple old skool food shop that offers local dishes. We tried the Ba Ting Soup Mee Sua and Kway Teow Goreng. The Kway Teow Goreng is light and not the dark kind with chicken, egg, bean sprouts and mushroom. It was tasty and not so oily. The Ba Ting Soup Mee Sua was really nice. You can smell the herbs the moment it was served. Mee sua was nice and firm instead of the normal soggy ones we get all the time. The pork trotters were not the fatty kind with the "Q Q" skin. Prices are reasonable, service was abit slow as they were quite busy during lunch time. Overall, we had a good simple lunch. Will definitely recommend this shop to my friends whenever they come...

Type: Kopitiam Ambience: Casual. Open. Best local coffee - have it hot on site or iced and take away, they’re all good. It’s a must have here! Morning doesn’t start till I have the coffee here. Highly recommended to all travelers visiting Kuching. Enjoy the local morning and the local ambience; chill, easy and the hustle bustle is just nostalgic and unforgettable. Jalan Padungan is an old town and pretty much well-preserved in its local culture, with nearby modern café and hotels, but a good mix of the old, too. Great...

This place offers a simple, no-frills dining experience. The menu leans towards familiar, homestyle flavors, which some may find comforting, though nothing particularly stood out during my visit. In fact, it felt a little bland... It’s a decent place if you’re nearby and craving something straightforward, but not necessarily a spot I’d make a special trip for. And tbh, there are a lot more choices in the area. Overall, not a great e experience....
