SOLRISE SEADFOOD RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Borneo

We were unlucky to get served by a unfriendly, rude and pushy waiter (the rest of the waiters were very friendly and helpful except this one) Deeply frustrated by her awful attitude and horrible customer service - very pushy and didn’t allow us time to look at the menu. We asked for 5 minutes to think about what we wanted to get- but her response was ridiculously pushy saying “Order from me later” in an aggressive tone. She walked away for less than 1 minute and then came back standing right next to me. We felt very uncomfortable but still got our dinner since it was our first day at Semporna.

For our fish order, I asked for red snapper but she ignored my request and put in tiger grouper on the order although she showed me on her ipad later on. 600g RM 75 - fish was fresh but honestly her way of customer service made me feel extremely pressured and uncomfortable, as if we needed to order something more expensive.

As mentioned the rest of crew were very friendly and chill, the dishes were delicious and seafood was fresh.

Our dining experience was totally ruined by this rude, aggressive, pushy lady! Will not consider returning to Solrise for seafood feast.

Let’s be honest, we are tourists and we want the respect to go two-way between tourists and food...

We were checking for restaurants on Google map and found this one with 4.8 ratings! We were skeptical but the seafood was so fresh and the cooking was absolutely delicious! (Just on our taste!)

The food was super fresh and amazingly good! 🦀🍤🐟 Staff were very responsive, friendly, and spoke fluent Chinese, which made communication easy. We had crab, prawns, and fish all in one meal for a very reasonable price—definitely worth it!

One thing to be aware of: Bajau people will come around the restaurant selling things. The staff can’t really do anything about it, so be prepared as it happens quite often.

Food was good but. Very very pricey. And our waiter has totaly destroyed our experience. She was very pushy; unfriendly and didn't let us choose our fish she gave one of the most expensive one. This is really the waiters behaviour that make never go back

Other waiters looked so kind compared to the one assign to us. We will not come back and will recommend all our friend to not go there; there are cheaper sea food...
