The only authentic Indonesian version of sambal ayam penyet/lalapan ayam in the region. Their sambal have a fresh and distinct flavor you rarely found in other restaurant.
Their default sambal for lalapan ayam is prepared fresh and made with no oil, unlike other establishments around. They do have other type of sambal you can choose (spicier one and another cooked ones which have sweeter note), but mind you that their original sambal itself already spicy for most people (that come from me who loves spicy food).
Their food portion are very fulfilling with huge piece of chicken and well flavored fried tempe and tofu. The blanched veggies they serve also plenty and match really well with the sambal.
If you’re an ayam penyet and/or sambal fans, Surabaya Restaurant is definitely a must visit restaurant...
