138 Cafe has quite a lot of variety to offer and is popular among the locals. The place is reasonably clean and the service is fast. Although the location of the place is in the middle of the city the pricing of the dishes is acceptable and the serving size is big.
The kolok mee is exceptionally good especially their "Mee Merah" which seems to be a favorite among the customers. This is a bowl of noodles tossed in oil and char-siew sauce giving it the distinct red color. The taste is slightly sweet, salty and sticky at the same time. I am sure it is packed with artery blocking goodness which cardiologist will be very happy with. The laksa is on the watery side but the taste is still good. The fried noodles from the stall at the back serves up big plates good enough for 2 people.
