I loved their Yee mee because of their light tasting and extremely hot soup on arrival. The noodle is perfectly cooked and the lightly seasoned soup does its job remarkably well. For those looking for a heavy type of flavours may be disappointed. The stand out is actually not the noodle but the fish ball. It's made in house with mackerel and it's superbly delicious. To the point that without it, the noodle is by itself just average.
As for the smoked duck scallion noodle, hats off to the chef for the incredibly tender and well seasoned duck meat. Without any gamey smell, the duck is definitely worth coming for. The accompanying noodle was good but not earth shattering.
As for the pan fried bun, the filling is adequately flavoured but the unique character is the pastry. It's made from sourdough. It's actually the first time I have ate this kind of bun made from sourdough. It's an interesting concept. Meanwhile, the century egg dumpling is unique. Not many places offer dumpling with century egg. It's a niche filling that only a subgroup will be able to enjoy. Which I am a part of.
I did enjoy the whole meal as a whole and their Michelin is likely awarded for their unique way in preparing some of the ingredients that you won't find elsewhere. It's worth a visit...
Read moreStumbled across this place while walking to the Jetty. Saw that it is a “Michelin selected” restaurant and thought it be worth a shot! Ordered the duck noodle dish, fried wontons and my partner had beef noodle dish. Duck noodle was delicious, could have been a little less oily but still really enjoyed it. Fried wontons were nice, not my favourite. Would have ordered some of the other dumplings if I went again. My partner loved the beef noodle dish, the broth was quite flavoursome and the beef was tender. In Georgetown there is lots of amazing street food at lower prices than this. We spent approx RM70 for 2. However The Pinn’s food had a really homely feel, plus it was nice to get out of the heat and have some good food and drink in the air conditioning. Would...
