Dolce — Restaurant in George Town

I am extremely disappointed with my visit today. As a regular customer who has visited many times and genuinely enjoyed the desserts here, especially the tiramisu, I did not expect to experience such poor service.

There were two staff members at the counter. While I understand the customer before me had a large order, I only wanted to purchase a petit dessert and was ready to make my payment. I clearly informed the staff that I was in a rush and requested to pay while the other customer was still deciding. If necessary, I would have sought the customer’s consent as well.

Extremely disappointing experience. We placed our order several days in advance and clearly stated that we would collect the cake before lunch. On the day of pickup, we arrived at 11:20 AM, only to be told that the cake was not ready, with no prior notice or apology. We were told to come again after 15 minutes!

Since it was their mistake, we asked if they could deliver it to us—we were having lunch just 100 meters away. Shockingly, the staff said they would charge us extra for that. To make things worse, one of the staff even said, “9 AM is also before lunch,” as if that was a reasonable excuse.
