We stayed at this hotel for two days, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Beware: If you stay beyond 1:00 PM, even slightly, they will impose additional charges without prior notice. While we don’t mind paying or tipping for excellent service, what we cannot tolerate is the lack of transparency about these fees.
Here’s how the charges work: From 1:01 PM to 1:30 PM, they charge 30 RM. From 1:31 PM to 2:30 PM, additional of 50 RM. Succeeding Hourly charges is 50RM
When we checked in, they have a 50 RM deposit. In contrast, other hotels—like Bayview—charge just 23 RM per hour for late stays. What upset us most was how this situation was handled. At exactly 1:03 PM, they called us to inform us we had already been charged for overstaying. There was no prior courtesy warning or notification about these policies during check-in or our stay. When we asked to review the CCTV footage for proof, they deflected and kept repeating their “protocols” that were never disclosed initially.
To make matters worse, one of the staff members, an Indian lady, responded with a sarcastic and arrogant attitude, making faces instead of trying to resolve the issue. Their lack of professionalism and unwillingness to address our concerns was infuriating.
For comparison, Bayview Hotel provided a far superior experience. They accommodated us kindly, even letting us check in early at 1:00 PM when the official time was 3:00 PM. Their attention to detail and customer care is exceptional.

The standout feature for me was the excellent service. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable, which really made a difference.
The hotel itself is very clean and everything feels quite new. My room was spacious, beautifully designed, and provided a very comfortable and relaxing environment after a long day of sightseeing.
The location is another major plus. It's only a few minutes' walk to the Komtar Tower, which is a central transport hub, making it easy to get around Penang. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, offering a wide variety of dining options within a short walking distance.
My only minor complaint, and the reason for not giving a full 5 stars, is about the Wi-Fi. I stayed in a room ending with '04', and the connection in that part of the hotel was very weak and unstable. It kept dropping the signal, which was a bit frustrating. However, the connection in the lobby and common areas was fine.

I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign hanging on the door, and there was no room service today. When I went to the reception to get two bottles of water, the receptionist insisted that their team had marked my room as cleaned. I explained that I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign up, so I didn’t think they would have entered. Besides, the room looked exactly the same as when I left it in the morning.
The most shocking part was when I went to the reception to get a laundry bag. The receptionist told me they had checked the CCTV and kept insisting that their staff had entered my room to clean. Then she said, 'I’m not sure if you’re trying to cheat us or not, but I won’t charge you for the two bottles of water.'
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing—being accused of trying to cheat them for two bottles of water! I’m also unsure if they even checked the CCTV properly. If their staff did enter my room, why would they do so when I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign clearly displayed on my door?
