Food was just bleh... Nothing too exciting to mention about. Let me break it down. Went there for a family dining on Saturday night.
Seafood consisted of raw and cooked. Raw section: Blanched squid, Tuna and Salmon. Cooked section: Sushi rolls, Clams, Oysters and Shrimps. Overall the raw seafood is the most delicious section for the entire buffet. However the cooked seafood meat is rather chewy. Soy sauce is too salty 'Not suitable for sushi'.
Main Entree: Satay, Fish Fillet, Fried Noodle, Sauteed Lamb, Beef Dish, Sweet Sour Fried Fish, Stir-Fried Prawn, Cheese Clams?, and Vegetables. Somehow the food seems lazily cooked. Nothing noteworthy of the taste and texture. Boring taste and mushy texture. Somehow food is also too slow to cater a fully packed restaurant. Dish also sometimes not warm enough even though it is fresh from kitchen?... Best food is the fried noodle.
Other: Tempura, Mushroom Soup and Duck Broth... It is actually okay and delicious. Nothing to complain here. I'm willing to eat them again.
Dessert: Ice Kacang, Ice Cream, Cakes? Ice Kacang condiments needs to be stocked regularly; this is Penang and it's Iced Kacang has to have it's Kacang. My mum was saddened and her Ice Kacang looked so sad. Come-on...
Ice cream choices is left to only 2 flavors... Cakes? Mostly cream and fondant colorings; quite unpleasant. There is only 1 type alcohol to drink...No beers, no wine and no liquers.
Lastly, service is non-existant. Servers looked like they just like to walk around chatting and not helping customers. Managers is also non-existant.
Maybe a good venue for company dinner... NOT for family buffet, holiday dinner or romantic night. The sidewalk of Penang will be much...
Read moreBad experience from the reservation and banquet team! My family and I were having nice lunch buffet during pre-CNY 2025, and strike some lucky draw prizes for free lunch buffet. Then I whatsapp them that my brother will redeem the free buffet and bring along 3 new guests (they will pay for theirs).
The PIC did not mentioned we have to present the physical voucher to redeem, we thought Wembley has their in house record as the voucher written with some codes.
During 1st March 2025, my brother and his friends were having great lunch at Wembley until the waiter demanded my brother to pay the buffet, otherwise need to present the physical voucher, but we thought Wembley already aware of this redeem. While they were arguing because my brother did not bring along the physical voucher, the waiters and people surrounding staring at the table (my brother and his friends), which made them feel awkward and being humiliated , left with no choice and 'FORCED' to pay.
So Wembley lucky draw prizes are meant for nothing, they use this to attract more sales without gratitude. If my brother did not redeem the lunch buffet, Wembley might not have 3 new customers on 1st March 2025. Perhaps the new sales just a tiny amount to St Giles and they don't care anyway.
Until today they did not reply me regarding this issue or apologize for the humiliated experience caused to my brother and his friends. They said OK to refund RM88, but I have to personally bring the physical voucher to Wembley venue, which is ridiculous.
This is not about the money thing, is about the business etiquette and principle to...

Great place for family and an exciting joint to see so many senior citizens enjoying the buffet there. BTW, senior citizens (55 years old and above) got a ~20% discount.
