The worst ever exprience for food quality served at this restaurant. I made a reservation for 6 person to celebrate 2 newly married couples. I have been there twice. Were great experiences. However this time was completely disastrous experience for food quality served to us. It supposed to be a memorable beautiful dinner experience for my two nieces and partners. But what we could only remember the low quality food served to us!😔
Almost 3/4 of items listed in the menu were not available for various excuses and left us with no choice and opted for what we could. We purchased the promo RM65 per person non-refundable if we eat less than that and pay the differences if more than that. No problem at all for me to treat all my family members for such occasion.
The food taste like a stale food. Not fresh ingredients. Rather kind of frozen meat for the steak, lamb, salmon and prawn. Most of us could not finish the food.
The freshly squeezed juice (pineapple, green apple and watermelon) absolutely absurd. Merely a glass of water, ice cubes and sugar. Could not really taste the juice we requested. So diluted with liquid.
Dessert for 6 creme brulee..what a joke. Tasted like custard pudding. Then we realised been served to us without the burnt sugar on top. I have to call the waiter and showed him a picture of real creme brulee from the google. Omg...then only he took all back to the kitchen and took for ages to get a proper presentation of creme brulee.
2 lattes ...we wondered whether they really know how to make latte. So bitter. Less milk. Full of foam. 1 cup have more foam and another just nearly overfilled with liquid.
Most of the excuses given...not enought raw materials, out of stock, and the most shocking answer was - we do not have a proper chef/cook when we complained about the quality of the dishes😳😳😳😳
Then who the hell was cooking for the customers. When you complained about all of these issues they just stood still and profusely keep saying we were sorry about it. That's it! ..Hard to see their face expression as all of us were wearing masks.
I do hope the management og this restaurant to fully understand: Customer satisfaction can.really affect your future survival of your business.
Perhaps the topview thinks that the panaroma will compensate the disastrous food served in the restaurant. Then please go to study Services Quality in Restaurant and understand the principles of 7Ps.
Do not blame your workers if no proper training is given to them how to response to customers. All come back to mgmt.
Do not promise your customer if you cannot deliver as written in your promo. WoM and eWoM can be very prowerful. Customers are not blind. So do not mislead.
Topview restaurant, if you are not ready to reopening your services to your customers...then DON'T!..because we do not go there for any free food. Value of money =...
Read moreFirst of all, Komtar is a Penang icon therefore tourists and restaurant patrons have high expectation. Overall the view was spectacular and that's all that matters. The staffs are well trained and polite. They will guide you to the elevator, restroom, know when to serve food in sequence, clean up etc. Food can be improved. Our mushroom soup was a tad too salty so I finish up the soup on behalf of my husband and my steak was more like 80% done instead of medium and the pink mayo looks like it doesn't belong there and the side vege looked cheap. I loved the creme brulé even though husband hates it because he felt too slimy and creamy. Husband also suggests a napkin on diner's lap should be a norm for such restaurant of this standard. Manager Jerry Teoh is very attentive and friendly towards his customers. He offered to take photos and chatted with his customers. Well done and keep up the good work. Reservation should have told us that table deco requires outsource vendor so that my husband could arrange. He also requested table by the window and all the replies he got was "OK Noted". Instead, my husband was furious when he brought me to an empty table. I was like "Were you planning a surprise?". So husband informed and showed the WhatsApp messages to one of the staffs who brought us to our so called table. The WhatsApp number is not TableApp admin because the profile photo is The Top logo. We waited and waited and husband dare not move from the table in case the restaurant staff revert back to him. You could have just told us we need to pay RM150 to the vendor who was decorating about 5-6 tables that day....we would gladly pay! After waiting for an hour or so until I walked back from taking photos at the deck, husband did not get any answer and was served food immediately... all this while my husband waiting like a dumb person patiently!!! But doesn't matter as I don't do blogging anymore. If you come here just...
Read moreDecided to dine in with the family for Christmas Eve luncheon. Made reservation & paid booking fee of RM 25/pax (a la carte lunch booking) via whatsapp a week before and direction was to go to ticketing counter at Level 6 to check on booking before heading up to the restaurant. Turned out, need to queue at the same queue where everyone else queued to purchase their entrance for other attractions at The Top. Showed my bank payment transaction receipt and the cashier issued a receipt and vouchers + entrance ticket. From there, walk over to the entrance /lift area to the higher floors.need to change lift at level 60 or 65 (suddenly forgotten) then the other lift take to level 68 where the restaurant is at. Upon arrival, staff seems pleasant and welcoming. But they forgotten my request for a baby chair (it's ok, no big deal, requested again). Ordered Nasi Lemak Rendang, Beef Hor Fun, Spagethhi Aglio Olio with Grilled chicken, Classic Beef Burger, Pan Seared Salmon & Mushroom soup. First taste for 2 plates of Aglio Olio & Beef Hor Fun are super salty..it's not edible to us. When we feedbacked, they arranged to be replaced. When the replacement of Aglio olio came, there was no salt according to the diner's but when I tasted, it had a teeny bit of salt 😂 Beef Hor fun replacement was much better, still salty but it's edible this time. Tasted the mashed potato on the salmon dish & Rendang also more to the salty side but still edible and just need to drink more water. Tried asking next table how's their dishes - they also feedbacked it's salty but they can accept it I guess coz they didn't not complain to the waiter. Maybe it's just our luck that time when the chef prepared the dishes he's just feeling salty😅 Anyway, love the view but not the food. Especially for the price paid (sum up around RM 400plus) - it's...
