招牌 (大骨) Signature Bone BKT (No Rice) = RM26.00 SST Tax = RM1.56 Service Charge = RM1.30
This was a Large Eatery located near to KSL Hotel Entrance. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by a Very Genki Elder Lady. The Staffs here are Friendly and Warm and are the type that talks loudly and sometimes in Canto.
As usual, I ordered the Standard BKT Order without any additional Addons or even any Drinks, and I'm happy to see that they did not Outwardly show any 死人脸. Usually BKT Stalls will show a 死人脸 if you were to not order any Addons for their BKT and you will be treated like a Low-Valued Customer. Luckily not this place.
The BKT took 7 Mins to be served up. Not Bad Timing.
招牌 (大骨) Signature Bone BKT (No Rice) = RM26.00
When this arrived, I was immediately impressed by the Big Bubbling Claypot, and especially by the Big Fat Leg Bone and the Generous Amount of Meat. I think its a Leg/Shin Bone? I'm glad that they are not Stingy with their Meat Portion.
The Soup Broth is not Klang Style, yet it is also Not a Simple Soy Sauce Base. Its a Saltish Braised Taste with a Very Slight Tinge of Herbal Aftertaste. No idea what Herb is used but its Nice and it worked well here. This Herbal Taste is Faint, but its presence can still be felt. Not Overly Salty and I easily drank it dry. This is a Nice Tasting, Above Average BKT Broth.
The Meat is not those 煮到烂烂 type of Soft, but it is Tender and yields easily to the Bite. Really Nice and Meaty and Very Clean Tasting, Absolutely Not Porky at all. Skin is not melt in Mouth but is still Soft and Nice. Very Decent Quality Pork Meat.
They didn't scrimp on the Rest of the Ingredients too as there are also some Beancurd Skins, Lettuce Leaves and Tau Pok too. I have no issues with the Quality of this BKT.
Very Heated Discussions and Complaints among the Supervisor and her Staffs
Being that I was seated nearest to the Cooking Station I could very clearly hear what sounds like a Supervisor complaining and venting to her Junior Staffs about a Staff taking MC. Although the initial venting is about this Staff who took MC, the Supervior got more and more heated as she complained and she started dragging out issues such as "Why an Item was not Thrown Away despite it being Spoilt?" etc.
I even managed to record this Altercation and I thought hard whether I want to release this, but Ultimately decided not to because this could potentially cause people to lose their jobs.
I think she just Completely Lost control of her Temper. I feel this could be handled better as venting like this right in front of Customers don't reflect well on the Business. Especially so when she mentioned about "An Item that is not thrown away even though it was spoilt" which seems to imply there may be some Potential Food Safety Concerns?
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM28.85 (S$8.80), this wasn't exactly Cheap but I felt the Amount of Meat given was still reasonable. Included in the Price are even some Beancurd Skins, Veggies and Tau Pok which are usually sold seperately as DLC at other BKT Eateries.
The Soup Broth while not Klang-Style was Warm and Comforting and Decently Delicious as I could easily drink it dry.
Having said that, I feel the Supervisor could certainly do better in managing her Temper. Completely Losing Control like this and Venting Angrily at her Team Members right infront of Customers doesn't reflect very well on her and the Business.
I decided very hard whether to score this as an Average or Recommended due to her, but ultimately decided to still recommend this because this BKT does taste decent and the Staffs Altercation had nothing to do with me.
Hahaha, I guess you can say I was Unlucky? (Or Lucky?) to have witnessed this Incident? If you decide to dine here, I hope you have a better experience than I did.

The dining area was big and airy. Not only that, we had received friendly service from them.
Upon making orders with the staff, food items will be prepared on the spot over the fire. The aromatic herbal broth fragrance made us more hungry while with the air filled with the smell waiting for our food.
We took a look into the kitchen and spotted their pot filled with pork and herbal soup.
Upon ordering, the kitchen helpers started to prepare our orders.
After some recommendations and discussion, we decided on these dishes.
Love the fact that the place was not overly commercialized. Knowing that we were there to try out the food, they suggest us to order a personal portion even though we are in a group. The Bah Kut Teh was flavourful and pack of herbal taste to my liking.
Signature Bone Bah Kut Teh 招牌大骨 / 小·骨 - RM 20
Salted Vegetables were topped with fried pork lard cubes, enhancing their flavour.
Salted Vegetable 咸菜 - RM 4
The Dry Bak Kut Teh was flavourful and topped with shredded cuttlefish and the dish was prepared with cut lady's fingers.
Dry Bah Kut Teh 干式肉骨茶 - RM 16
I don't usually take Pork Tendon but the braised sauce was too inviting and I had these smooth "gelatine" texture Sea Cucumber and Pork Tendon glide down my throat in a short time. The braised sauce was perfect for drenching on our bowl of white rice.
Pork Tendon and Sea Cucumber 猪脚筋,海参 - RM 20 + RM 30
The sea cucumber was well-braised and smooth.
You Tiao with Bah Kut Teh Soup is quintessential for enjoying my meal and so to speak, I will find my meal complete with having them soaking up my hot bowl of herbal soup.
You Tiao 油条 - RM 2
Polite and friendly service from the lady. Love that the soup is filled with an herbal taste and strikes a good balance without being too bitter.
As a soup lover, I love that my empty bowl gets filled up from time to time. Really enjoy the kind of service received.
There are many Bah Kut Teh eateries in Malaysia and business is rather competitive. The food from Ba Jie Bah Kut Teh is decent, however, service was outstanding...
Read moreCame to try the shop for Bak Kut Teh for the first time for 2 pax lunch. Ordered 1 small Bak Kut Teh (RM17), added enoki mushrooms and dried beancurd skin for RM10. One side dish of sour vegetables, dough fritters each about RM5. Then ordered another side dish braised chicken feet. BKT came with 4 ribs and the ribs were cooked until so soft that the meat comes off the bone easily. Dip into dark soy sauce with minced garlic and chilli, the taste was so good! Soup wise taste a little bit herbal and slightly thicker than usual BKT but overall very nice taste. The dough fritters soaked up the soup when dipped in also taste very flavourful. My favourite was the braised chicken feet (4pcs). Taste a bit spicy so those who can't take spicy may want to reconsider but the chicken feet was very very well cooked. Not a gourmet to describe it in details but it's the best I have ever eaten. They use flavoured rice and goes well with the soup. Overall the food is good. I didnt like their version of salted vegetables though so would not recommend it. However, service staff was always too busy so be prepared for a long wait. Waited about 40mins to get my lunch served but it was served hot so that's OK. Cleaner staff flung her table cloth and remnants of food flew and some landed on my husband's foot so that wasn't quite pleasant. Don't expect a very clean environment to eat in as you can see remnant of food on the floor. Would be good if the service staff can be more organised I.e someone to show customers where to sit, get the orders and clean the...
