20 Nov 2023 - 7.10am Had this two weeks ago and I simply had to return, it’s THAT good …

Savoury Pork & innards stewed in Soy Sauce and slathered with shallots fried in pork lard … UTTERLY DELICIOUS.

We ordered streaky pork (emphasised to Boss that I wanted the fattier cuts), Tua Tng Tao (large intestine head, literal translation. Well cleaned, there’s no funky or offensive odour), Hoon Tng (sweet “powder” intestines), pork skin (tender with a faint bite to it, lovely!) and 2 hard boiled eggs. All were cooked to the right consistency, and it was salty enough to go well with the Kway Teow Kia (thin, flat rice noodles, the Ipoh Horfun kind). Our meal for 2, including 2 cups of iced coffee, came up to RM50 (about S$14.50)

Soup base for the Kway Teow Kia has a bit of a peppery kick so it may not appeal to little kids.

Boss was also friendly and affable, and I enjoyed bantering with him. A brilliant stop for early morning breakfast, having driven from Singapore and reaching the shop at 7.10am.

Parking is no problem at 7am although by 8am it was starting to fill up. Really enjoyed my hearty, savoury breakfast, and we will definitely be returning time and again, whenever we drive...

Okay, so today we felt like trying something new, going off the beaten path a bit. We've walked past this place a few times, and even though it wasn't super busy, there were always a good number of people inside, so we thought, why not? Forget the online reviews for once. The food? It wasn't amazing, not the kind of thing you'd rave about for days. But it was good, honest food. Nothing fancy, just straightforward dishes that felt like they'd been made with care. It had that comfortable, home-cooked feel, perfect for a casual breakfast or a lazy brunch. You could tell it was probably a family kind of place. One thing that surprised me was how much I liked the lean meat. Usually, I don't go for that, but it was actually really tasty. So, you know, it's not going to change your life, but it's a decent meal. Maybe give it a try yourself – you might end up liking it even...

Was quite shock when I saw the rating for this place cos i personally thought that everything was really tasty and the owner was very friendly as well! We were unsure if the parking officer would come by so we asked the boss, and he offered us a parking coupon! The guotiao was cooked just nice and soup was herbally. We got intestines, egg, belly and lean meat. They added fried scallions and scallion oil to all the sides which was very fragrant and made everything taste like magic ✨ would definitely visit again if we are...
