First of all, there were not much diners to begin with as we stepped in at 8pm.
We only ordered 3 items and 2 hot green tea. I was feeling unwell so i ordered salmon belly soup and chirashi don and 1 temaki.
The temaki was served first and followed by my salmon belly soup next. While I was halfway done (was eating super slow as i was unwell) and we asked what happened to the chirashi don, so the waiter went to check and we heard him reminding the kitchen. After waiting for another quite some time, we asked again and once again the kitchen was reminded by the waiter. But, even until I finished my salmon belly soup, the Chirashi Don was not served. We are so confused why raw food takes so much longer than cooked food?
Disappointedly, we requested for a cancellation, the waiter cancelled for us but we overheard one of the kitchen staff asked the waiter where are we from in Malay and someone replied Singapore, and they started conversing in Melayu about us.
If they just admit their mistake and let the episode end, I doubt I will even write such long review.
Although this is not the first time that we dine here as honestly, their food is quite alright, but this will definitely be the last time. We will definitely be sharing our encounter as this is totally unacceptable especially with 10% service charge and this is the kind of service we are receiving.
Truly wrecked dinner experience.
PS: Service recovery was a 10% off the total bill after we...
Read morePlace: Almost always a line at peak hours despite the slightly pricey cost. But the seatings are comfy and there's always another choice if the wait here is too long.
Service: have been prompt and quick on my 1st time here. Menu brought to me quick upon sitting. And order was taken almost the moment I decided what to eat from the menu (there were 2 tables ahead of me).
Food:
Piri-Kara/Teriyaki Gyu Niku Set (RM35.90): vegetables were fresh and not over boiled, brocoli and beef always go well together, the beef was moist, soft, sliced to perfect thickness and complimented perfectly with teriyaki sauce that's just the right type of sweet. Loved the side pickled guava salad, really puts the word appetite into appetiser!! Nice play here with guava+orange peel+carrots. Miso made it all come together. Verdict: wow! Recommended for beef lovers.
Special Unagi Maki - (4 pieces = RM19.90, 9 pieces = RM39.90): loved the unagi on top this sushi, moist, melts in your mouth, and flavourful (and boneless). The sushi itself could have been packed better, as it was quite loose with mine. But, it was still acceptable as it did not fall apart upon handling with the chopsticks. The mayo "spread" ontop could have been more by a tad bit to add to the flavour besides just being aesthetically pleasing. Verdict: I'd certainly...
The good parts were that everything was fine. Nothing was bad. I didn't find the dishes we got very flavourful. The soya sauce they use is also quite a mild flavour. The service is not great.
Wait staff placed the wrong order on our table and only after seeing our confused faces, did he check what we had ordered. But it sat there for like 3 minutes and I'd be upset to receive that after my food sat in front of someone else breathing on it. My main dish came out almost 15 minutes before my husband's. So they didn't time that well at all. Wait staff also reached across the table in front of our face and over our food instead of going around to the side.
The atmosphere really sucks. Half of the restaurant has no walls so people walking around the mall can look right over the bannister at you and your food. The kiosk across is blasting music and the chairs are uncomfortable. Really not a great location or ambience.
I just think this is an incredibly over priced restaurant that does not deliver on good, service or atmosphere to match the prices they...
