For the very first time , I had a bad experience at Starbucks Reserve Paradigm Mall Johor . There was a BUY 1 FREE 1 promotion on going yesterday . We went there around 8pm and the staff at the counter informed us that theyâre out of ice , so thereâs only hot beverages available . They also mentioned they're facing issues with the ice machine and are out of ice cube stock . So I decided to order matcha tea latte and hot chocolate . While waiting for the order to be done , I realized that other customers who came after me were getting cold beverages , especially Malay and Chinese customers . When I approached the staff at the counter , she said theyâre serving based on the orders , which doesnât make any sense at all . She gave me the most stupidest reason . Are your employees trying to be racist ? I requested the staff to replace my order to Matcha Creme Frappuccino Blended . Instead of Frappuccino , they served me Iced Matcha Tea Latte . Can't they differentiate the difference between beverages ? I requested one of the staff to change back my beverage to Frappuccino , asked them to add chips and mentioned that I'd make an additional payment . There was a staff member named QEHA being so sarcastic , asking me why I didnât order it earlier and making additional requests to them . I totally agree with what she said but excuse me , your staff at the counter said thereâs no cold beverages and made me order hot beverages . I would have made the right order if they hadnât missed delivering the information , which made me add on a last-minute request . Itâs clearly your staff's mistake and youâre expecting me to queue back in line just for a simple additional request ? QEHA was serving me in a sarcastic way , with no smile on her face . Is this how you treat a customer ? I've been to so many Starbucks Reserve outlets and I've never encountered a barista with a high level of Starbucks knowledge and experience being so rude to a customer . Customer service professionalism is very important when youâre serving a customer . She didnât even have the courtesy to say sorry . Try to understand the importance of serving a customer with good manners . Starbucks is a very well-known specialty coffee retailer . Hiring this type of employee will damage your reputation . As a regular customer of Starbucks , this incident really disappointed me . Donât simply hire anyone because youâre in need . Hire those who are really suitable for a customer service position . The thing is there were at least 5 other customers drinking with a straw with the flat top cover!!... So i dont understand the different treatment i was getting. Im not from the area so was it racism?
