First of all, I have to say that the food menu is very unlike a typical cafe, in a good way. It even serves live lobsters (with advanced order). We ordered some pastas, the barramundi and a salad. Food was well prepared and tasteful. Pasta was al-dente, right amount of salt, olive oil, etc. So overall good food. Ambiance is also relaxed and chill with comfortable yellow lighting and generally pastel undertones. Clean and relaxing. The only problem in my opinion is the food is over-priced relative to the portions. For example RM36 for a plate of pasta is not cheap by any standards even if this were a "restaurant proper". My son had the barramundi which was well prepared but once again, a very small cut for RM35. (sorry, forgot to take a picture). And to top it off, the fish doesn't come with any sides. Just a piece of fish. They do inform you before hand though and one is supposed to oder the sides separately. Unfortunately the sides is once again priced on the high side. Example, a very small portion of sautéed mushroom side buried under the small piece of fish cost RM12. My suggestion to the owner is to revisit your pricing strategy or portion size. I understand JB food scene is mainly "Singaporean-friendly", therefore the high pricing but let's be reasonable. P.S. Please use coasters for your drinks. It increases the value of...

One of the standout dishes was the house-made pasta. It's clear that the chefs at Principle Cafe take great pride in their craft.
Shoutout to “Ms. Xiang Qi”. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They were friendly and accommodating, adding a personal touch that made me feel truly welcomed.
To cap off the meal, I indulged in their signature dessert, a decadent chocolate cake, it was the perfect ending to a memorable meal.

Read moreOrdered four cheese pizza, lamb shank, aglio olio with prawn.
Prior to coming to this cafe, I had an idea of the price being steep. But seeing the ratings being so high, I decided to see for myself. I looked through the google images and see what other people were ordering so I ordered the same.
Pizza was ok. Was not aware it was a white pizza because there was no tomato sauce base. That may be my fault. Pizza crust was nice crisp and airy. Would’ve like it better if the cheese had a bit of blister. But that is just me. Still preferred pizza from Basilico.
Lamb was alright. The mash potato served with it wasn’t my favourite.
Aglio olio with the prawn was alright for me.
Food ordered wasn’t my favourite.
The interior was nice but the toilet door was difficult to open. There wasn’t any handle, only a small groove to slide the door. So the groove is blackish and no other way to slide it open.
Service was excellent. No complaints there.
Perhaps ordering from the breakfast menu and coffee would be a safer alternative, considering the prices are quite high and have higher...
