Search for kopitiam at Mount Austin but Google introduce me this Kopitiam Lautan. So lucky got a parking in front of the shop and got a last empty table when we enter the fully seated shop. Many cooks and helpers are preparing food at the kitchen, hence we thought the food will be ready very soon and we are starving when we arrived. But, we had waited for half an hour before received our first ordered food. We ordered a Signature Curry Laksa, Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken and Cheong Fun & Fried Carrot Cake. Beverage is Kopi C Kosong and Teh C Kosong. Beverage was delivered on half an hour after we had submitted our order. Both of the Kopi C Kosong and Teh C Kosong are satisfied on taste but the price is RM3 per cup. Somemore the coffee still taste a little bit sweet even we order a Kosong. Cheong Fun & Fried Carrot Cake (matched as one dish) delivered after the beverage. The portion is small and the price is on higher side. Somemore the Fried Carrot Cake is cold when served. Curry Laksa Meehoon taste is at satisfied level. Portion is like normal hawker but the price is almost double. Please take note there is no cockles serves with the Laksa. Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken is not very recommended to order. The nasi lemak is undercooked or half cooked and the rice used is crushed rice (broken rice). The fried chicken however, is overcooked. chicken was fried until too dry and chicken meat lose the tenderness, really wasted that beautiful whole chicken leg. My suggestion to the shop owner is to reduce the number of item in their menu and focus on the kuey teow soup and those noodles choices which are their signature dishes. Also, to increase the efficiency of the cooks and helpers in the kitchen. Hope to see our local eateries in Johor to improve until become a Michelin...
Read moreIf you want innovation and variety in your food, you can't go wrong here. Ordered laksa and even pointed to the thin Bee hoon for emphasis, just in case the malay lady can't understand, I got laksa laosu fen. Interesting Then I also ordered ipoh hor fun. Didn't know Sg n My ipoh hor fun is so different. So My version is actually fish ball noodle? I am so educated. Actually there is something that is same with Sg here. The price. Definitely can match Sg price, cup so small that the receipt is bigger yet cos me rm3.60. I can't say much for the rest of the food, cos I too full from drinking water to quench thirst, maybe its cos of the salty food. P.s. the food is takeaway so I shall rate the atmosphere 3stars, cos the restoran looked nice, with air con and all - looked cosy enough for the 10 people eating there on a...
Read moreUpdates: The new batch foreign workers, especially the male workers seems not very attentive to customers hand calling gestures. Saw a customer can't get the worker's attention hence he had walked all the way to where worker was standing and handed him the order chit and can see the customer kind a pissed. Nonetheless, the food quality is still maintained as good as before.
Weekends, especially be prepared to go there risking without getting a seat or have to wait or queue for a seat. Their signature menu code. 2000 & 8000 is the best dishes one should try. I personally go for dry noodle (mee pok) with a bowl of flavorful pork soup with different fish balls. For those who have high taste bud, this is the place to go for. Besides the noodles, the nasi lemak is another menu...
