Our recent visit to Shiba Cafe was a rollercoaster of emotions, blending moments of delight with disappointment. Here's a detailed breakdown of our experience:
DA Little Farm Animal Cafe (Third Level): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The time spent with exotic animals on the third level was simply magical. From interacting with adorable creatures to absorbing insights from the knowledgeable staff, every moment was filled with joy. The warm and inviting atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. DA Little Farm Animal Cafe undoubtedly deserves a five-star rating for providing such a wonderful experience.
Dog Cafe (Second Level): ⭐⭐
However, my excitement was dampened when I descended to the second level, home to the Dog Cafe. While enjoying my ice cream and eagerly awaiting drinks, an unfortunate incident occurred. Despite the absence of clear signage prohibiting photography for non-paying customers, a staff member reacted aggressively when my sister and I innocently snapped a picture of the dog area. Their hostile tone and lack of clear communication left us feeling unwelcome and upset. Additionally, being asked to leave the premises after our time session at the DALittle Farm, while others enjoyed their treats at the premises while waiting for their sessions or after their sessions. It's disheartening that such a negative interaction overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable visit.
Suggestions for Improvement: Improving signage and fostering courteous communication from staff at the Dog Cafe could significantly enhance the overall experience for visitors. Adding curtains during the dog session and this will discourage patrons taking photos of the dogs. A simple reminder or friendly request regarding photography policies would have sufficed, avoiding the confrontational approach we experienced.
Final Thoughts: Despite the unfortunate incident at the Dog Cafe, the opportunity to interact with exotic animals at DA Little Farm Animal was undoubtedly the highlight of our visit. While initially tempted to give a lower star rating, I couldn't ignore the exceptional experience provided by DA Little Farm and its excellent staff. Hence, I've settled on a four-star rating, acknowledging the outstanding aspects of DA Little Farm while hoping for improvements in customer communication at...

booked the 11am slot and there were about 3 pairs before us. dogs were really energetic but a few kept fighting with each other which the staff would attend to immediately and bring the “instigator” aside haha. however, the dogs will only come to you if you have treats which was RM5 per tub. the smaller shiba inu were quite unfriendly… right after you feed them, they would no let you pat them anymore and would even move away from your touch. the rest were fine!
although some dogs have diapers, some which did not have would still pee around but good thing the staff would clean it up pretty quickly.
overall, very cute dogs and good experience!!
update: went back to DA Cafe on the 3rd level due to the different animals they have. 1 of the dogs were quite aggressive and will only come to you if you have treats. after eating the treats, when you want to pet, the dog will turn aggressive and want to bite you. the bigger birds were pretty much on the branch all the time as the staff told us that their wings have been cut. there is a pair of green birds which will keep flying around and that was quite scary. the skunk and the fox are kept away and you can request the staff to bring you in to have closer interaction with these animals and advise you on the do’s and dont’s. the fox were sleeping most of the time and the skunk was very friendly, fur feels like carpet!! the ducks came out only at the end. the meerkats were scary as they were always running and playing around. the alpaca was friendly and doesn’t spit at people. there are also rabbits, hedgehogs and hamsters which are also kept away in glass tanks and the staff can bring them out to let you hold/hug them. the staff were very friendly and would explain the habits of the...
Read moreI think the dogs are adorable and staff seem to care about them. But I have some constructive feedback that I hope the management can consider-
The cafe is open for bookings from 10am to 3pm and 4pm to 10pm. This means that the dogs work for 5 hours + 6 hours = 11 hours everyday. I don't even think human beings work such long shifts. For the welfare of the dogs, please consider shortening the opening hours. Dogs need a lot of sleep everyday (12 to 18 hours).
Too many dogs. There were at least 10 dogs today. 2 large sized dogs, 7 medium sized dogs and 1 small dog if I can recall. During our 1 hour appointment, there were at least 10 to 14 people viewing the dogs. Such a small space is not enough for so many dogs and so many people. Moreover, these dogs need a lot of exercise space. It's also dangerous for people and dogs, especially if the tired dogs get into a fight. Consider decreasing the number of dogs or the appointments.
The dogs keep eating at every 1 hour appointment. That's a lot of food. Consider limiting the treats.
Cleanliness. I could smell strong urine odor from the moment I stepped in. These dogs also shed a lot and the floor was full of fur. Why don't you consider closing the space for vacuuming and mopping after every 1 hour appointment? That way you can let the dogs rest too.
I know the dogs look cute and healthy, but that's because they're still young. Such habits will accumulate and cause them bad health issues as they grow older. Please take my suggestion into consideration. I'm a dog lover and I feel sorry for them. Profit is on thing but I think money should be earned ethically....
