Superstar Family KTV Austin Height — Restaurant in Johor

TLDR: lousy customer service. Food served mostly lukewarm.

Warakuya restaurant is sister store of this ktv. The food were served fast, but some food were lukewarm, example, fried soft shell crab and tempura soba. the food were probably done a while ago & the miso soup tasted terrible!

There was this Chinese male staff wearing spectacles serving food to us and accidentally dropped the prawn from chawanmushi while serving food to us. He did not apologise but stared at my friend for a while and said “errrrr”. Simply not professional. There is one hour 30 min complimentary for ktv when I order food from this restaurant. At the right hand corner of tv stated the number of minutes left for ktv, it stuck at 76 minutes for damn long. The room also look quite old and dirty. Requested for the receipt before paying payment, saw there is free pudding and asked for it. This same Chinese male stuff replied that the pudding will serve later and the later never happen anyway. 😝

Funny thing is that we can’t use cash payment payment to the ktv staff and need to go down to warakuya just to make cash payment?

my bf went out of the room to request for take away food but waiting for a while, nobody assisted and I have to go out and remind them for takeaway. The same Chinese staff said wait a while ah. Then came into my room gave us 2 plastics boxes and a plastic bag. Come on la, it’s a Monday evening. Got so busy until so damn hard to put the food into the container for customers?

Not sure why people say that the food here nice ktv good etc. according to my own experience, it’s just a waste of time and money travelling to this restaurant and ktv. If google allows me to give a 0 star rating, I would. Oh fyi, this Chinese male staff seems to be in a managerial role (wearing slightly different from other workers) but doesn’t...

Came in with wife and parents to try this outlet for the first time as they have a good selection of Chinese Malaysian singers that my parents like. We also signed up for the membership.

The sound and song selection were decent and easy to use. About 1.5hr into our 4hr session, 2 out of 3 microphones suddenly stopped working. The service staff came in and unable to solve the problem with new microphones. At the same time, our remaining 38 song selection started to disappear one by one. This trouble shooting took about 20 mins before the staff said we needed to move to a new room. At the new room, our song selection were not transferred and we had to take another 15 mins to search and key in our songs. The estimated down time in total is around 40mins.

We ordered snacks like fries, fried sotong, chicken wings. The fries were good. 2 of our fried chicken wings were not cooked, can still see semi ccoked meat and slight blood.

Despite the delay and troubles, the counter staff can only extend our session by 10mins. We also decided to cancel the membership without refund.

Not going to come back to this outlet or any other outlets under 天王巨星. The infrastructure and service recocery processes are not good based on...

Member price (rm32 per hour x 3 hours) = rm160 Non-member price (rm48 per hour x 3 hours) = rm 168

Hence, no choice, we paid rm160 for a 2 paxs small room for 3 hours, which includes a one year membership and one jug of non-alcoholic drink (non-refillable). It is way overpriced when all the neighbouring karaoke joints were charging at much lesser rates.

Room size was small, but ok since there were only 2 of us. Songs and system were ok. Furniture and wall finishings were quite dated. The table still had the watermarks left-over from the previous customer and they didn't even bothered to clean up the room before we enter. They didn't provide a mic cover for the mics as well...!! Horrors

One hour into the singing and we began smelling cigarette smoke coming into our room. I went out and asked the staffs if they allowed customers to smoke at the premises and they said Yes. It was really bad for my friend and myself.

My friend's eyes started to sting and I started to have issues breathing properly. We left before the time was up and forgo the rest of it. This would probably be the first and last time we visit...
