★★★★★ A Nostalgic Culinary Journey
As I stepped into the Café with a High School Canteen theme, I felt like I was transported back in time. The familiar scent of freshly baked bread and the clatter of trays brought back memories of my school days. But this café isn’t just about nostalgia; it’s a delightful blend of past and present.
The Priest’s Touch: Serenity and Grace
The café’s owner, a priest with an eye for detail, has curated an atmosphere that exudes serenity and grace. The wooden tables, old-school chairs, and vintage posters on the walls create a cozy ambiance. It’s as if she’s inviting us to sit down, share stories, and find solace in simplicity.
Soulful Dishes: High School Classics with a Twist
Now, let’s talk about the food. Each dish is a loving tribute to high school canteen favorites. The noodles, topped with a perfectly fried sunny-side-up egg, evoke memories of hurried lunch breaks. The slices of meat (I suspect pork) are tender and flavorful, just like the ones we used to devour between classes.
Encouragement on Every Plate
As I savored each bite, I felt encouraged. Encouraged to embrace my past, to celebrate the simple joys of life. The café isn’t just serving food; it’s serving memories. It’s a place where laughter echoes, where friendships are forged over shared meals.
So, dear reader, if you’re seeking more than just sustenance, visit this café. Let the priest’s blessings infuse your meal with warmth. Let the high school canteen flavors transport you to a time when worries were lighter, and dreams were grander.
Verdict: 4.5 Stars and a Standing Ovation
This café deserves every star in the galaxy. It’s not just about food; it’s about feeding the soul. And as I sip my coffee (served in a white cup and saucer, of course), I raise an imaginary toast to the priest, the chef, and the memories that linger in every corner.
Go forth, fellow wanderer, and relive your youth—one delicious bite at...
Read moreAlright, folks, listen up! Donkey and I were staying in Mount Austin and decided to check out 初中一校 High School Kopitiam for brunch. The whole school theme was so fun, and I was excited to take some pictures of the old school canteen-style setting. The atmosphere really brought us back to our school days, with lots of drawings on the blackboards, creating a playful and nostalgic ambiance. They even used a blackboard theme to create artistic photos of school days, and even the toilet was designed to look like a principal's office!
What We Loved:
• The Ambiance: The whole school theme was a blast from the past, and I loved taking pictures of the canteen-style setting. It was so nostalgic!
• The Curry Chicken Hock Chew Mee: This was a huge hit! They were super generous with the chicken, and the curry had this rich, delicious coconut flavor.
• The Butter Kaya Toast: The Butter Kaya Toast was perfect - crispy and buttery, with a sweet and creamy kaya topping.
• The Chicken Floss Egg Pancake: The Chicken Floss Egg Pancake was also delicious. Although it tasted slightly different from the ones we have tried at Eat 3 Bowl, it was still very flavorful and the chicken floss was fragrant and crispy.
• The Service: The staff were very kind. After Donkey felt a bit warm from the curry noodle, they were happy to turn on another aircon to cool the place down.
Donkey’s Take: I loved the whole school theme! It brought back so many memories.
