No cheerful smiles or greetings when we entered the cafe. We were handed the menus and we had to find our own seats. After we made the selection, I beckoned one of the staff behind the counter to come to us so that we can place our order. But instead, he called out from behind the cashier counter that I had to go to the cashier's counter to place my order and pay in advance. The standard price here for the ice cream is RM14.00 for an equivalent of 2 scoops and tea at RM12.00 per cup. And yes, I have to go collect my own ice cream and tea when it is ready too.
After we finished and took our leave, 2 staff called out to us at the exit and said we had to clear our own table. He showed us a sign that said so.
Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having self-service. But shouldn't there be a staff to greet us upon entry and tell us how the place basically operates? For example, upon entry, a staff could have given a greeting by saying :
"Welcome to our cafe! Take your time to go through our menu and when you are ready, please proceed to our cashier's counter to place your order. By the way, everything is self-service here. So when your order is ready, you can self collect once we call out your name. And this includes clearing after your own table after you leave, ya? Your cooperation is much appreciated..."
This way, you manage your customers' expectations and they know what they should do right at the start. However, we were not told anything upon entry at all. Every response from the staff was reactive instead of pro-active.
Ambience is normal. There is free wifi too. I feel this place is banking on novelty to attract customers. By this I mean the ice cream is made by pouring liquid nitrogen into a whisk to make the ice cream. This will attract walk-in customers. But success of a F & B outlet is also measured by having your customers repeatedly returning because they enjoy returning. So will they succeed in the long run? Imagine paying RM52.00 for 2 persons (see above x 2) and you got to clear your own dishes... You are better off spending your money elsewhere where you can get at least a smile and better&...
Read moreBest ice cream I’ve ever had! It is unfortunate that they don’t have a branch in KL.
We ordered these flavors: original, chocolate rocher, raspberry and granola, and mint chocolate chip. All of them have their unique flair. Mint chocolate chip was their monthly special.
My personal favorite was the chocolate rocher but the others were as amazing. The ice creams were as smooth as silk. They weren’t overly sweet or rich in anyway and it melts in your mouth like no ice cream I’ve ever had.
The raspberry and granola was tangy, sour and has this amazing crunch. The mint chocolate chip wasn’t as minty cold as you would expect and the chocolate chips were soft. The chocolate rocher was rich and had tiny little biscuits that tastes like ferrero rocher’s biscuits, it isn’t as in your face as the raspberry one. The original is a classic, so basic yet milky smooth. It also hits the right spot with the sweetness.
The service was pretty good, each ice cream cup is between 19-25 ringgit. The atmosphere is a little dark but I love the tables with a sewing machine gimmick that you can play with. You can also see them make the ice cream...

Ambience: Lacking in space for dine in, but taste is the top priority!
Food: Best ever Double Mint Chocolate ice cream I ever had! Like so fresh, so Minty, and texture was dense and soft. Just enough crunch!
Price: Not super expensive, not super cheap. 2 scoops for RM18. I think it's fair for the quality of ice cream that I got. :)
Zero Waste: They were more than willing to pack their ice cream in my bottle, but when I said I was going to eat in store. They offered not only to put it in their own cup, but to also serve with metal reusable spoons! OMG! I was ecstatic and beyond happy because I could use my bottle for something else now and not wait till I got home to wash it. They understood and respected the concept and lifestyle!
Would definitely come...
