At a glance, the menu may seem a little limited—maybe even far from offering anything you would be willing to stop by to eat; however, if you can get past your inhibitions and just give it a try, you may be surprised by what you find. Prices are definitely on the high side, probably averaging about RM40–50 per person, depending on what you order.
The joint is found in a two-story shophouse, with most of its seating on the second floor. Steps are narrow (and one was slightly shaky), so patrons who are less mobile may want to stick to the ground floor. To some degree, the cafe can cater to patrons with prams—though fitting more than two prams on premise (and on the ground floor only) may not be possible if other patrons and staff are to still be able to get around somewhat comfortably.
The recommended Flowers Breakfast somewhat lived up to the hype around it. The meal is definitely filling (and that full feeling will last for quite a while); its scrambled eggs were well done and uniquely flavoured, and the bread used for the toast was excellent. Even the fruit component of the dish went surprisingly well with the other ‘dishes’ it was served with.
For a side, I had the Wedges with Tar Tar sauce dip—this one could do with more flavour; the sauce was also a tad runny.
Drink-wise, I had their Thyme Lemonade special as well as a taste of their Pineapple Lemonade, and another drink that had pomegranates in it (sorry, I forgot the name of the last drink). I would describe the sensation they all gave as refreshing, though each one had its own unique flavour and oomph. I’m partial towards the thyme lemonade and pomegranate drink.
Their cakes appear to all be made in-House, and tend to be displayed in a cake display of sorts, so dry edges are inevitable, though the insides remain nicely moist and buttery (this is based solely on their pistachio cake).
Overall an alright place.
Would I visit it...
Read moreCame here for the second time on a Wednesday morning when there aren’t as many customers. There are many different rooms in this whole cafe. Many more seats upstairs as they have the unit next door too. Also have outdoor options but it’s too hot for me outside..
I really enjoy the Mediterranean superfood salad because it’s very refreshing and I feel so healthy eating the huge variety of plants in this one dish. All the different vegetables are already seasoned, on top of the three different dips, so the whole platter is very tasty.
I prefer my tortilla wrap to be dry in the Mexican Breakfast. Should be served separately or where it won’t touch the wet components to become soggy. I also prefer my nachos to be the thicker type instead of these thins ones.
The balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil dip that came with the plain sourdough was nice. A surprising addition to a serving of butter.
Enjoyed the lemon curd yoghurt cake too. I even ate the dried lemon slice that looked so pretty. :) maximum vitamin C benefit :). Avoid the peel if you don’t like bitter taste.
We enjoyed the hainan beef noodles as the noodles are very springy. The beef meatballs with hummus and mushrooms and two slices of sourdough was good too. I would have liked some butter and the vinegar/oil :).
Ordered matcha latte with cow’s milk instead of oat milk as oat milk has more sugar than cow milk....
Read moreThere was already somewhat of a queue when we got there round 9.17am (the place was getting ready to open so no one can go in yet). 1st floor is super narrow and had 3 tables so we ventured up to the 2nd floor to get seats (4 of us). Our husbands went downstairs to place our order (head to the 1st floor to pay after you eat). Took a pic of the menu for easy ref. Ordered the Avocado Super (RM18.90), Pan-fried Salmon Salad (RM24), Mexican Breakfast (RM19), Wasabi Seafood (RM17.9), Orange Carrot Juice (RM15) & Hot Mocha (RM9).
Overall, wasn't impressed. Overall deco was lacking and old. It's called "Flowers in the Window" for a reason, cause the flowers are only at the window. Quite spacious with the high ceilings on the 2nd level. Speed of service was still alright, although the hot Mocha came after all the food had been served and we were 1/3 through the food. If you're more of a health-conscious foodie, then this place might work out for you. But with that said, there wasn't anything great. The sourdough toast was quite hard, the wasabi wasn't mashed evenly in the peas so you end up with some bites were teeming with wasabi while some had none at all, seasoning was also lacking a bit (save for the Mexican Breakfast). The Mexican Breakfast was still acceptable thanks to the spiciness from the salsa but a tad salty. Didn't try the cakes sadly. Staff were nice...
