Jalan Tan Hiok Nee is a historic street located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It is named after a prominent Chinese businessman who owned several businesses in the area during the early 20th century. Today, the street is a popular tourist destination known for its heritage buildings, street art, and cultural attractions. Some of the notable attractions on Jalan Tan Hiok Nee include the Hiap Joo Bakery, which is famous for its traditional wood-fired bread, the Sultan Ibrahim Building, which was once the seat of government in Johor, and the Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the local Chinese community. In addition to these attractions, Jalan Tan Hiok Nee is also home to numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops selling a variety of goods, from traditional Chinese medicines to handicrafts and souvenirs. The street is particularly lively during the weekends and public holidays when it becomes a bustling pedestrian mall filled with street performers and vendors. Overall, Jalan Tan Hiok Nee is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the cultural heritage of Johor Bahru and experiencing the vibrant street life of the city.

Có nhiều người dân tộc sống ở đây và nhiều món ăn ngon. Giá bình dân và sang trọng đều có. Tôi chỉ không thích là con sông gần đó có mùi.

Jalan Tan Hiok Nee is the heritage street of Johor Bahru. The location is within walking distance from JB Sentral as well as the city hall. There are some historical eateries nearby. The buildings are kept in its original architecture. Jalan Tan Hiok Nee may not be so happening like Jonker Street in Malacca, but it is worth to visit when you are in Johor Bahru. Some sites are good place for pictures/videos taking

The area itself is nice though small.

However: I had an awful experience. I encountered two very aggressive people. The first was an incredibly racist person. Unprovoked (we were looking at our phones to work out where to go to) he launched into a diatribe about "stupid Indians." No idea who he was. We had not said anything to him. He just launched off. It was shocking and horrible. The second was a panhandler who wanted money. Very aggressive.

Just to warn others. Be careful around this area. It should be far better policed than it is given it is a tourist area. I am a man and I was with a woman. This was on a sunny afternoon. It maybe far more unpleasant if you are alone or a woman and/or if it's dark. I would definitely not come here...
