Choice of Food: Black Cat Cafe has a good variety of vegetarian and vegan food to choose from. They offer both Western and Asian selections on their menu. My personal favourites are from the Asian menu - Gado-gado, Singapore Laksa, Szechuan fried rice and Meehoon goreng Thai style. The interesting part of Black Cat is that they offer "today's special" on certain days of the week which are not on their menu. I always look forward to the days they offer special dishes like nasi padang and nasi kerabu. So far, Black Cat is the only vegetarian cafe I know in Kuala Lumpur that offers vegan Indonesian food. At the beverage counter, their barista James is commendable. He makes the best teas and coffee in town. My favourites are his iced lemon tea and mazagran coffee. Please do not miss these two if you dine at Black Cat. Dessert - Please don't leave the restaurant without trying their eggless vegetarian butter cake and their vegan chat masala ice cream. Both the butter cake and vegan chat masala ice cream are made by the cafe owner Madam Ambiga herself using her own innovated recipe. Food Presentation: If you take the soup noodles, you will be served using their super cute cat bowl. Meeeooowww. Portion size - adequate for one person per serving. Service: I love their friendly and efficient staff - James at the drink counter, waiters Theeban, Suman, Zar Khan; and Angie and Kakak at the kitchen. So far, I have never waited beyond 5 minutes to be served my food on normal days. On very busy days, the staff will inform me that it will take longer for certain food to be prepared. And they always check on me if I needed anything else before the kitchen closes, or if I needed to take away any food. Ambience: Please come to Black Cat Cafe to check it out yourself. Don't expect to leave early because this place is like a magnet. You shouldn't leave early. ๐๐๐ Overall experience: I love this place. It's a relaxing, cozy, book-worm friendly, cute vegetarian/vegan cafe to get together with friends and family. Bring your assignments here as well. They have enough plug points for your laptop. Suggestions: I wish they could bring back their rojak buah and warm salad. Since there weren't much demand for these two, they have discontinued these dishes. ๐ญ P/S: You can walk over across the street to Arogya for Ayurvedic massage. It belongs to the...

I've been to this place 3 times.
Had a meeting there the first time during lunch and the lack of a crowd made it very conducive to the meeting. Had some Indonesian food that was on offer and absolutely regretted it. I assumed this to be me not being accustomed to that style.
Second time I went just just out of laziness of finding a different vegetarian place nearby. I ordered the spaghetti marinara. Apart from the sauce being watery, it was bland and completely disappointing.
Third time, I took away because I thought, hey let's give it a shot, this place is running, they must be doing something good. Also, I wanted to eat in my apartment just upstairs from the place. I saw they had the burger on the promotion board outside. So, I decided to go with burger. I went with the burger that's listed as their speciality, the rendang burger for RM 10.9. That's the picture with this review. Leaving the severe lack of fries aside, the buns were so chewy, I had to dismantle the burger, eat the buns separately from the patty. My jaw began to hurt just chewing the bun, I stopped eating it. The patty, had no form of texture. No crisp on the edges, felt like mush, had no flavour whatsoever, leave alone rendang flavour. The raw onions in the burger overpowered the entire dish. The only decent thing in the dish was the stingy serving of fries.
I've decided, I'm never going back to this place. As nice as the setup inside is, as polite as the servers are, the food just isn't worth it. It's not worth your money, it's not worth your time,...
