Mininimum order of 1 drink per person. Not stated anywhere at the entrance and we were warmly welcomed by the barista and owner but shortly after that I was told of this rule when placing my order. Nicely explained to her that one of us don't drink any of the drinks sold there but she insisted that I should get another drink or a cake. Told her that another friend is coming and she put on hold the order. A while later, the lady boss came and she insisted to us like a headmistress that we need to order 1 drink each - there are 4 of us. Explained the same to her but she didn't accept and said that there are tea and so on. Ya but the fact is that a guest has the right to choose his preference, what is wrong when we have placed order for 3 drinks and the other person doesn't drink?
Well, I have not come across this rule in any other cafe and for the fact that there are accompanying friends/family members, this rule is totally unacceptable. āļøbucks is a regular place for me and my friends and at times, not all of us order drinks but we were allowed to dine in. This is a country of diversity and RESPECT for one another's choice is essential.
Long story short, we donated $12 for a cup of tea, left on the table untouched. What a pathetic way for her to get business and what a pity for her. There are many marketing gimmicks that will help a business to grow but definitely not a harsh rule like this.
First and last time here. Fyi, there are a few other better cafes at ground floor that you could go to if you happen to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm so glad I managed to get here just before I left Malaysia it's an exceptional place in my opinion. It's a little hard to find unless you know already - go to the corner facing the road and then it's upstairs using a spiral metal staircase. It's beautiful inside but quite small so seating is limited.
Atmosphere and service were excellent some of the best I experienced in Malaysia. I suppose that's an advantage of it being a intimate place actually that extra level of attention is possible. The Skyfall which is I guess their most well known drink was one of the most exquisite tasting and looking drinks I've ever had - it was art just as much as coffee. I didn't expect them to do bigger savoury meals but they have a small selection of pies and similar so I had a chicken pie which was also excellent. Price obviously not cheap but for the quality more than worth it think Skyfall and pie were still under 30rm (16 and 13 respectively).
Third Mile river city is an interesting place overall worth a look round but it is in a very busy and bustling area. I went on a weekday and parking was quite easy within river city and I think 2rm or something for an hour - might be more difficult on a weekend though I think there's also a multi-storey you can use but I found the signs a little confusing but that might just be me.
Either way this lovely, sophisticated but laid back establishment is definitely worth coming to no matter how...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGroup of 4, there was sufficient seats, given that we visited on a weekday after lunchtime.
It took us a while to find the place, we went 2 rounds looking for it, only to find that itās upstairs. Thereās a silver stand by the stairs directing people but we overlooked it.
Once weāre up, the staff was very nice and greeted us ā we noticed they do this for everyone who walks in and most of them were friends. Iām guessing theyāve built rapport with the people in the area :) it gives the cafe a very comforting vibe too.
The macadamia cheesecake is nice! I wish they had more selections but those were sold out and we didnāt fancy any of the other options left.
I had the matcha drink with yoghurt, lychee and berry (?). Itās nice, and I never knew this combination would work!
The rest of the group ordered: Mint chocolate Mint coffee Iced white Waffles with icecream
Itās rare to see mint drinks on the menu, and itās nice for those who love all things mint. Their iced white is good too. Only gripe is the waffles with icecream - the waffle is on the chewy side (very minimal crisp factor) and doesnāt seem to go well with the icecream. This is a personal preference as I wished itās crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside instead.
Would come back again for their cakes! Fingers crossed they have them on the menu...
