In the bustling heart of Chow Kit, there exists a haven for coffee enthusiasts—103 Coffee, where the alchemy of brewing becomes an art form, surpassing our expectations and leaving an indelible mark on our caffeinated journey.
Stepping into 103 Coffee is akin to entering a gallery of aromatic wonders. The air is infused with the rich scent of freshly ground beans, setting the stage for an immersive coffee experience. Each cup tells a tale, a symphony of flavors that dances on our taste buds with unparalleled finesse.
The ambiance within this coffee sanctuary is not just inviting; it's a clean canvas where the aesthetics of the space contribute to the overall appreciation and relaxation.
Service at 103 Coffee is not just transactional; it's a friendly embrace, prompt and genuine. The staff's warmth adds an extra layer of joy to the experience, making our visit about more than just the coffee—it's about the pleasant interaction, creating a sense of camaraderie.
As we indulged in the coffee journey, a thoughtful touch awaited us—the complimentary drinking water, a refreshing addition that underscored the attention to detail at 103 Coffee. It wasn't just about the brew; it was a holistic experience that catered to both our caffeine cravings and our hydration needs.
In the realm of culinary delights, skepticism met its match with the visually appealing cakes. Beyond their aesthetic allure, each bite unfolded a delightful surprise, proving that at 103 Coffee, the flavors are as exquisite as the presentation.
Now, considering the negatives, the slightly elevated prices could be seen as a small price to pay for such an exceptional experience. The quality of the coffee and the inviting ambiance make it a justifiable investment in the symphony of flavors.
A minor hiccup emerged in the form of pop-ups during the QR code ordering dance—a quirky distraction in an otherwise seamless script. Yet, even with these considerations, the desire to return...
Read moreOur regular 103 Coffee branch for years. Quite frankly, close to perfection in everything they serve and do; this particular branch. There is a sense of genuine sincerity in what this place has, with unpretentious hard-working baristas and service crew. The aforementioned brilliant house baristas designed interesting concoctions (our personal favourites are their Picollo Lattes, their Central House Blend blacks, and Honey Bear!).
Service staff, from the front to upstairs, have always been genuine, cordial, professional and moreover delightful, even when managing overcrowding at peak times. Despite them regularly rotating their staff, their lofty standards are always consistently upheld, something we have observed many cafes are unable to sustain.
More surprising is their food, from the breakfast menu to the dinner service. Despite us not typically being big fans of fusion flairs, 103 Coffee's chefs actually found a flawless balance in their menu selection, resulting in a variety of savoury favourites that are simple and not overdone. Among our personal choices are their Breakfast Yakisoba, Gomayaki Beef Steak Udon, Crispy Tempura Sandwich and Pomodoro Beef Bolognese Pasta. As for cakes, we have only went for their Roku Gin Almond Dacquoise (which was a little stronger than we expected) and Strawberry Yogurt Cheesecake, which were quite good.
A nice balance in the atmosphere as well, with the airy space upstairs while downstairs suit people with drinks in mind, having small intimate tables with views of the baristas at work.
It is in our sincerest hope this place sustains the level of quality they have established in many years to come....
Read moreThe coffee was good, I liked it. No flaws here. About everything else: Service: Mediocre, although there are only a few tables, they would give you a QR code to make an order online. Not sure what is the purpose of these actions, is your waitress too busy serving 4 tables so she can't offer us something and accept the order so we should make an order online to save your time? I don't think so. This is a common way to operate in big restaurants but if you only have 10-15 pax capacity why would you do that? I'm confused. The next thing is that I have to personally call the waitress to get a glass of water. I mean, if you have a "coffee" word in your name you should serve one glass of drinking water with every coffee order, this is an industry standard, I'm surprised I have to explain that. Food: Okay, the price is high but the portion size is big. The cheese sandwich was a little too greasy but overall not bad. Interior: While it looks fancy in pictures - wow - I was just amazed because I can't even remember a more uncomfortable interior even though I visited hundreds of similar places. The tables are so small and short, chairs are uncomfortable. My back started hurting after 15 minutes of seating here. The interior designer of this place should get an award because he really did something remarkable - making such an uncomfortable place while it looks so good is a real achievement. This place is not suitable for working, reading or anything else you would typically do in a place like that and it's hard even...
