Came here just now and must say i was amazed 😁 We made reservations on their page, which is definitely to do as they’re pretty crowded even on weekdays. Parking is kinda hard to find so come early and scout for a place.
Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly waiter and was seated in-front of the bar. You definitely can’t miss the happening music that’s playing, it really gets you going 👍🏽 we got complimentary drinks which is can be refilled as many times you’re there.
For food we ordered their : Guava glazed prawn tostadas (RM40) Jamaican jerk chicken with mango relish (RM70) Jollof Rice (RM20)
The prawn tostadas were amazing, the prawns were fresh, super juicyy and cooked well it was a good way to start our dinner. Then we had our jerk chicken which was delicious. It’s beautifully seasoned and cooked very well with the smoky flavours, the chicken was soft and too my liking. Mango relish was sweet and kinda complimented the chicken and you mustttt try it with their spicy/tangy sauce that comes with the dish. The jerk chicken is HUGE portion more than enough for two, so do take note while ordering. The rice was nicely seasoned and had a hint of spiciness which was great accompanied with the chicken.
For drinks we had : Cooper’s stout (RM28) Coconut shake (RM 18)
Coconut shake was amazing! The taste of the coconut was not too overpowering and the after taste is what makes it stand out. Its sweet and creamy. Loved it.
The service is amazing here and they’re very attentive to their customers. The decor is something you cannot miss. Its really nice and has its own unique vibe.
Had a great time here and...
Read moreWe spent 500 ringgit at Joloko for their advertised NYE dinner set (215++ per person), and it was a massive letdown. The flyer described an indulgent experience, but what we received was far from it.
When ordering, we were informed that the starters and mains were “sharing plates,” meaning we could only pick one dish to share between us. While reluctant, we assumed this meant generous portions. Unfortunately, we were mistaken.
The “sharing bread and dip” consisted of a single flatbread. Yes, one flatbread for two people. The prawn bisque, while flavorful, was served lukewarm and amounted to one prawn and a shot glass of bisque. Everything else was small, stale, and barely a few bites.
Sitting opposite the kitchen, we witnessed everything being reheated—yes, even the roasted potatoes. With all this prep, you’d think the service would be timely, but no. Our main dish arrived after a 30-minute wait, only to have a piece of plastic on top of it. When we asked for a replacement, the dish returned in three minutes, and it was clearly the same fish.
The fish itself was tiny and nowhere near “sharing-sized.” After that, dessert took an additional 27 minutes to arrive: a thin, small slice of cake and half a scoop of melted ice cream.
Last year, we had a great experience with their à la carte menu, but this NYE dinner was an absolute disappointment. The waiter brought two shot glasses (didn’t even explain what they were) as an apology for the plastic incident, but by then, the night was already ruined.
We paid the bill and left, feeling like our NYE celebration was cut short. Unfortunately, we won’t be...
Read moreDecided to have my New Year's Eve Dinner here, RM500 set menu (11 courses). This is the type restaurant that takes advantage of their customers by charging them premium for cheap ingredients, the only 1 expensive ingredient was the second dish (a pair of scallops).
The highlight dish was suppose to be either Beef or Pork, I asked the server how spicy is the pork but the server does not seem to be able to comprehend the question, so I just went with the pork.
The EGUSI dish, comes with shell attached to the crab meat and it's all hidden in the gravy, why were the shells not removed and the server did not highlight to us to be caution, I find this to be a hazard.
Every other dish tasted very similar Indian food and the most depressing dish is the OKRA, seriously for RM500 you're severing baby lady's fingers? Then comes the utterly dry and tasteless pork dish. Overall I did not eat much, nor did I even drink the cheap champagne and I only had a few pieces of the pork before deciding to give up eating here, paid and left.
Your front of the house even offered to give me store credit but I rejected and told him there is no point because I am never coming back to dine. For RM500, I have so many other better choices that actually serves quality food.
As for the atmosphere/environment, there is nothing much for me to say because I was placed in a corner upstairs even after bookings and requesting for a good spot. The music was annoyingly loud that I couldn't even have a conversation with my significant other. The vibe that I got was that this is a bar for backpackers.
Thank you for ruining my...
