Read moreI have been here a few times and yesterday I think will most probably be the last time I visit. Each time I have gone I always ordered the same thing so when something has changed in the dish that I ordered clearly as a customer I would know right? So when I asked the lady who I think is the owner or part owner that this dish isn’t the same as when I always order she tried to inform me that “it’s the same” I did not appreciate being made to feel like I don’t know what I’m talking about. I have pictures of the dish which I previously took and I have pictures of it from yesterday and it’s a clear black and white difference between the two dish! Previously I would order bangers and hash and the potato hash was completely different even the plating was different compared to the few times I have ordered it before. I mean it’s clearly changed so just say yes we changed it a little.
Secondly the chef or the management in this place think they are superior and will never adjust a dish according to a customers preference or dietary requirements which I actually find extremely strange. I have travelled to many country's eaten in many restaurants and not once have I come across a restaurant that will say no to removing a specific “garnish” which is so easy to remove it’s not like I asked to alter the entire dish I just asked if they could skip the onion which was a garnish on the dish! As a mother to a child who has food allergies I found this rather inappropriate for a restaurant not to make minor adjustments to a dish which would not affect them in any way! But seems the chef or the manager somewhat has too much pride over customers preference! Could not even admit the change in the dish which I have eaten and ordered countless times before. Oh and not to forget on the digital menu itself even the photo of the dish looks like the dish I use to order and nothing like the one I got yesterday. I have attached a pic of the two dishes and you can see for yourself how they “don’t” look the same like just look...

Dropped by for a late brunch. Previously came by for lunch but wasn't impressed by their food - see review below.
Since they are one of the very few cafés which are open during the time I wanted to eat (and parking right in front of their place) I decided to have breakfast here.
Ordered their avocado toast (sourdough) and added on a poached egg. Very pleased with the meal and I can say now that perhaps their breakfasts are better than their lunches? I have not had other selections from their lunch menu so can't generalise but comparatively, this avocado toast was great!
The sourdough slice was huge and toasted perfectly. Could taste a slight buttery taste and although it was smothered with avocado and drenched in my egg yolk, the bread still had a slight crunch.
The arugula complemented the egg and avocado well and one thing I particularly liked was that there was just a hint of dressing and not overpowering. The mashed avocado tasted fresh and still had some bits to it while the egg was poached perfectly too.
Overall a satisfying meal - except for the coffee which was meh to me. Slight burnt aftertaste.
1st visit:
Came here for lunch after reading about them on socmed for a while. I had their pan-seared chicken while colleague had the duck confit pasta. Place was indeed popular, service fantastic, food decent but nothing to shout about. Felt that the portions were slightly small compared to the price - but hey I am a big eater.
The chicken was fresh and juicy, mashed potatoes creamy and the accompanying vegetables fresh and not-overcooked. So, yes, food's decent but it's just meeting expectations.
The brownie is also fresh but a bit too sweet for me. To be fair, I feel that all brownies are sweet and understand that brownies have to be sweet for them to get that...
