DONT COME HERE IF U WANT TO EAT SOMETHING DECENT OR NICE! The interior is such vibes and is pretty well decorated but food is a solid 1 out of 10. You can get better food at the open air seafood next door that sells just about the same things but cheaper. This is a literal tourist trap imo.
Food is expensive and so is the water like a coke is 5rm are you kidding me? Portion sizes are alright but small when you are paying at least 25rm for a small plate that tastes bad. Food choices include different cuisines and everything I ordered was a disappointment. They serve something called a chicken with mushroom sauce, I thought they meant a piece of chicken noooo they served me pieces of fried chicken in batter and had disgusting mushroom sauce put on it. Tell me what cuisine is this?
Everything was bad. In my pic I ordered that and also salted egg sotong that was disappointing as a seafood lover and also a steamed egg. As a chinese, the steamed egg is suppose to be salty but then its literally tasteless. I also had the fried lotus which is definete no. I ate this before at a different restaurant and had my mind blown there but here its too thin and hard. Food was also mainly cold!
Visit at your discretion. If you are looking for food recommendations just eat at the open air seafood next door its cheap, nice and seafood is fresh.
I do have to say the plus point is the vibe interior that is so pretty and the service. Impeccable service! I dropped my spoon and not a second later a waiter gave me a spoon so quickly. I love the ambience of the place such a shame the food is so bad. They need to pick a cuisine and stick with it and also hire a new chef!
Go here if you want to pay extra for nothing thanks
they cater to vegetarains in the menu they will listen to your dietary restrictions there is parking directly outside place is easy to spot and also next to star suite hotel and opposite royce hotel +convenient place shame really
i want to add that I am not a local to malaysia KL but I visit malaysia almost every week because of family and friends. The food quality here is not up to par with the restaurants I had in johor senai or in KL. You can save your money and eat elsewhere. If you find food here good, then good for you but personally as a chinese that enjoys any cuisine the food...

My visit to 1919 Restaurant at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng was a delightful journey back in time. The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was embraced by a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere that instantly transported me to the olden days. The warm lighting, vintage decor, and charming ambiance created the perfect setting for a memorable meal.
The foreign waitresses and waiters were incredibly polite and attentive, adding a touch of hospitality that made the experience even more enjoyable. Their courteous service and genuine smiles made me feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout my visit.
The menu offered a wonderful selection of authentic Asian cuisine, and each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The Nyonya dishes were particularly outstanding, with rich, aromatic spices that brought out the best in every ingredient. The Chinese and Thai options were equally impressive, showcasing a perfect balance of traditional flavors and modern twists.
As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but reminisce about the good old days. The food was not only delicious but also evocative of cherished memories. The combination of exquisite dishes and the nostalgic setting made for an unforgettable dining experience.
1919 Restaurant is perfect for all occasions, whether you're dining solo, with a partner, or gathering with family and friends. The cozy ambiance and diverse menu make it an ideal spot for any type of gathering.
However, it's worth noting that parking and driving to this place may take some time due to congestion in the area. Despite this minor inconvenience, the experience is well worth the effort.
Overall, my time at 1919 Restaurant was a beautiful blend of excellent food, polite service, and a cozy, old-world charm. I left the restaurant with a satisfied palate and a heart full of fond memories, eager to return for another delightful meal. This hidden gem is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of...

ordered a variety of dishes to try but one that definitely stoof out was their signature eggplant and it was absolutely delicious. was deep fried to a crispy perfection and drizzled with a homemade sauce. absolutely addictive and ordered another plate as well
curry fish was very good as well and stands out from the usual curry. it is not as heavy as the usual curry and the fish was flavourful and soft, wanted to order another portion as well but we had too much food😅
kunik chicken was another stand out. sizzling on the hot plate coupled with the fragrance of tumeric made the dish so enjoyable! chicken was tender as well
