I had high hope on Alva but the worst experience I had compared to other skydinings around KL.
I placed a booking a week ahead for my wife's birthday via Umai website which is the only platform to book. I chose special request link and requested for simple table decoration for the event.
Until on the day of booking, no response from their team for my request. I had mailed to the correspond email address. No phone number is given in Google or their website. Finally I found their IG profile on the day of my booking and got their WhatsApp number. I gave my details and explained that I need table decorations. Yet, no response. Again I DM to their IG profile and someone instantly replied telling someone from their team will contact me regarding the issue. My booking slot is 5.00pm - 7.00pm. Someone replied me at 3.51pm saying that they don't provide any deco services. But before booking, I saw few people had decos on their table. And to my surprise, another family had decos on their table for birthday.
My question is that, why can't Alva management inform me earlier that they don't provide any Deco services? At least I could have prepared them from my side. Or they simply chose to answer NO since they saw my text last minute. If NO means how the other table had decos?
Their menu is limited to very little choices. The food doesn't taste great. We totally ordered 2 main dishes and 2 desserts. OMG, the portion size is equivalent to a kid's dish. Not really worth it. We have been to many sky dining around that area, either the dish would be pricey, great taste and large portion or reasonable price, average taste and reasonably portioned. This is the only restaurant charging customers so high but substandard taste, portion and service.
Now coming to their service, it's utterly poor. I was already pissed off with the above thing. As I mentioned earlier, we ordered 2 main dishes and 2 desserts. My wife ordered Coconut Panna Cotta (requested to serve after our main dish) in our table and I secretly went to the counter and ordered Ferrero Rocher Mousse Cake - clearly stated to have Happy Birthday caption and double checked with the design confirmed. Ask them bring it when I give them cue. Do you guys wanna know what happened after that? They brought the cake before I give them cue. Don't know who instructed to serve the cake. It was so awkward and disappointing as I unable to record the surprise moment. The best thing was, even after reconfirming, the caption was Happy Anniversary instead of Happy Birthday. Candle was in the cake but not lighted up. No cake knife or spoons provided. They server just kept randomly kept it on the table and walked off, no birthday song was played. With a confusing and awkward moment, I brought the cake to the counter and explained to the person whom I explained earlier. No apologies, nothing. She told us she will bring the new cake shortly. Been sitting in our table for about 20 minutes. New cake + the earlier order Coconut Panna Cotta still not served. The server already cleared our table and I walked back to the counter, the same person was there and she told me caked will be served shortly. Actually she forgot about the order. Really screwed up the moment. When they served the cake, I asked what happened to the Coconut Panna Cotta. She simply responded it's already finished. WTH! We were there for almost 2 hours, nobody have the courtesy to say it's out of order. We were sitting the like jokers. Really we felt like jokers there.
After thoroughly going through the reviews now, I see such incidents been happening for some time but the management is very reluctant on improving their floor efficiency. If they could just spend a day reading all the lowest rated reviews and held a meeting, I bet they would have become something better. Total waste of time, experience and money.

Upon entering the car park, I saw the security guard with motorcycle and asked him where to park my car for Alva Restaurant customer. The security guard asked me to park at B3 or B4, hence I followed his instruction and parked my car at B3. Upon exiting from the car park after 2 hours , I was shocked to see I was charged with RM200 for 2 hours parking. This is ridiculous and I went to check with Alva Restaurant employee and was told that many customers of them have encountered similar problems like me . They just gave me the contact number of Time Parking Management and asked me to resolve the issue myself. What kind of service is that ! I took the hassle to contact Ascot Star KLCC and they said the parking is not under them and pushed me away. I then emailed the Time Parking Management supervisor, Alif and his staff , Sassy. I even sent them the car cam recording video of my conversation with the security guide guiding us to park our car at B3. The supervisor, Alif of The Time Parking Management refused to refund RM200 to me , by right the 2 hours parking fee is only RM8 and they are cheating and set the trap for Alva Customers to trap into it . This is talking about RM200 and not RM20! After the incident, I went through the review of Alva Restaurant customers and apparently many many customers already being cheated by this parking fee of RM200 and even as long as one year ago. During the email reservation conversation, at least there must be some kind of communication in this parking guidelines but there is none. Alva Restaurant is not doing anything to prevent this situation from happening again and the customer continue to suffer and cheat by Time Parking Management. This unfair treatment to customers should stop immediately. Read moreHonestly one of the most mid and actually terrible dining experience I've ever had NO CAP. My friend had her birthday lunch here and it was a big group of us and we all agreed that this restaurant is terrible.
Let's start with the food. The food was absolutely bland and had no taste whatsoever. If you order any of the mains, do not expect any flavour. The steaks itself were not cooked to our request. We asked for a medium-rare steak and were served with medium-well done instead, on top of the steak lacking any taste. I had the bolognese pasta and for a place with such nice view and "high class" atmosphere, the pasta tasted like it was made in some cheap cafe in Klang. The price of the all their food items was extremely expensive for something that had ZERO TASTE. I had asked to have a side order of just plain french fries, and at first they had no idea how to charge me for the fries as plain fries simply wasn't in the menu. When I had checked the bill, I realised I was charged RM21 for a bowl of plain french fries. Absolutely scammers! Overall, the food here DOES NOT match the environment or the standards that this restaurant claims it has.
The service we had was also disappointing. The floor staff were missing half of the time we were there so we could not order or ask for any assistance which we required. We just had to keep waiting around for them. When asked to split the bill, the staff were able to help us out but only after diverting us to a different employee each time. It did not seem like any of them knew what they were doing. Staff may be friendly but they did not seem to know how to do their jobs properly. Very unprofessional in what seems like a fancy, high class, professional restaurant.
