Sassolino in Kuala Lumpur is a charming spot for those who enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, particularly their wood-fired pizzas. The restaurant has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that makes it a great place for a casual meal with friends or family. The pizzas are the highlight here, with a perfectly crisp crust and fresh, flavorful toppings that showcase the quality of the ingredients.
During my visit, I tried two of their pizzas, and both were delicious. The crust had that ideal balance of chewiness and crunch, while the toppings were generous and well-balanced. The flavors were vibrant, and the fresh basil added a nice touch to the overall taste. However, while the pizzas were excellent, I felt that the menu could benefit from a bit more variety to cater to different preferences.
The service at Sassolino is friendly and attentive, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to help with recommendations. The overall experience was positive, but there were moments when the service felt a bit slow, especially during peak hours. This minor issue didn’t detract much from the enjoyment of the meal, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re in a hurry.
The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant, with a simple yet inviting decor that complements the casual dining experience. It’s a place where you can relax and enjoy a good meal without any pretensions. The open kitchen concept adds to the atmosphere, allowing you to see the pizzas being prepared and cooked in the wood-fired oven.
Overall, Sassolino offers a solid dining experience with great pizzas that stand out for their quality and taste. While there’s room for some improvement, particularly in the variety of the menu and the speed of service, it’s still a fantastic place to visit if you’re craving a good pizza in Kuala Lumpur. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a casual, enjoyable...
Read moreA birthday is a special occasion. Picking the right restaurant is equally important. Sassolino did not disappoint. We made reservation for dinner. When we arrived, we were greeted by the Manager, Alex. He gave us a nice window of time to go through the menu. As their famous are their pastas and pizzas, we ordered: 👍 Homemade Potato Gnocchi Sorrentina 👍 Margherita Pizza with added blue cheese 👍 Rigatoni Pasta in Red Pork Ragout and Red Wine - from the Special Menu list (Full ingredients are listed in menu photo) 👍 House wines of Red and White (We asked for recommendation of wine to go with our food and Alex was nice enough to ask us to go for the house wine, afterall it was happy hours time - the wine was priced at rm19/- per glass.)
The nice touch Alex provided was that he suggested the sequence of how the food was to be served so we are able to savour all the food without over stuffing ourselves. That was a plus point for our experience dining here.
To top it up, Alex and the friendly crew gave a surprise birthday dessert to my friend accompanied with a melodious birthday song sang by them. My friend was so moved with the whole surprise arrangement and we ended up ordering a cup of flat white and cappuccino although we were so full from the scrumptious food earlier.
Highly recommend this place for a quiet celebration, a romantic dining experience for its great ambience. The dining crowd started coming in after 7 pm. The servicing crew including Alex are fabulous. Keep it up guys, and we hope to...

I prefer sorbets over them any day (never mind gelato for now 😀) Pretty sweet scoop Mediterranean lemonade - Never knew that I had to mix them both; tropical flavor on one spectrum while fruity on the other, this was an unique concoction of varied kicks 👌
Ambiance/Price: Yes, this place is worth the service and ambiance. With constant recommendation on and off the menu and customizing based on our preference, this place deserves credit. The service was on target while the ambiance would flatter anyone. Too good and too quiet to have a romantic dinner. Table booking is recommended while they've got good parking space too. The prices are OK but Q:P ratio takes a hit by the end...
