= summary = Best place overall and very cheap for 1 person or in a group for sure !
Looking for cheap eats to fill my dinner. Saw the reviews of this place and I'm glad that this place still maintains and ticked what the previous customers' compliments. So let this be an update for potential customers who are also having the same situation as me.
Food I ordered: Banana Leaf Set + Chicken butter (side dish)
Definitely delicious and every taste from the Banana Leaf Set has its own uniqueness. I for one 'campur'/ mix all of the sauces and I love the mixed flavor so much. The vegetables included are very delicious as well no doubt. But the MVP for this beautiful dish was the deep fried bitter gourd in my opinion. I also added some rice and papadam ( 2 papadams standard ) and guess what? No additional cost which some stores do take it accountable! Definitely ordering this will be good enough for your meal and it cost only less than RM 10 ! (Does not include side dish btw) Plus I ordered a side dish which is boneless Chicken Butter, saucer sized but delicious as well.
Drinks: teh tarik lawa, for the win
I like that taste of it. But I felt as though it's the same for normal outside tell tarik. Didn't try the normal one there unfortunately. I guess the lawa will have more taste of it and I definitely recommend drinking this for the "sweet-toothers".
Environment: looks very clean and it somewhat sets a local vibe to it. Air cons available but not all as it is opened area, though there are some fans so I felt fine while eating. The staffs there are wonderful and full of...
Read moreI used to be a regular and always loved their cold crunchy cucumber salad. Their fried squid ring was my absolute favorite. But I'm sad to say that my recent visit was a huge disappointment. It's not the first time I've given them a second chance after a not-so-great experience a month ago, and things have only gotten worse. The first thing I noticed was that every table was left uncleared after the previous customers left. I came around 4pm There were only two staff members on the floor, which I understand can be challenging, but I still had to wait 10 minutes for them to clean a table and bring us a menu. After ordering, I had to wait another 10 minutes just for them to bring the banana leaf to put on the table before they could serve our food. The fried squid arrived immediately after I ordered, which I initially appreciated, but unfortunately, it was cold. I waited ages for the rice and the rest of dishes, which all turned out to be cold. My favorite cold cucumber was just lukewarm and tasteless, the cabbage wasn't warm, and even the fried bitter gourd, which used to be hot and crunchy, was lukewarm and limp. Overall, the food and service have definitely declined. I miss the previous foreign staff members, who were always efficient, fast, and friendly. It's a shame to say that the current local staff aren't as welcoming or efficient as the...
Read moreThis shop focuses on serving serving banana leaf meals, but they are just okay.
Basic meal consist of one option of white rice, 3 types of veg, curries consisting of chicken, fish, sambar and crab. The chicken and crab curry we sampled were decent.
We also ordered a few of the side dishes namely the fried Sotong rings, mutton varuval and fried fish slice. Tje fish was the best side dish. Sotong was okay but the mutton wasnt great. Firstly a small serving was RM 20 i believe for a small serving, and the mutton was crewy / tough and wasnt flavourful. I highly do not recommend this.
They have a variety of drink but the outlet denies a glass of warm water while hot water was available in pushing for mineral water to be ordered instead. This is just poor. Some of us drinks warm to hot water with our meals for multiple reasons and the waiter cant be bothered.
Parking here is a nightmare, may need some time and patience before you find one.
To me, one visit is enough, no wow factor in the banana leaf meal here, perhaps catering to those who wants...
