"An Ol'Skool Food Joint that one can only reminisce about and it has become too 'touristy' for a local foodie"
This food haunt has a long history of its famous 'Siew Yoke Mien & Claypot Lao Shue Fun. Back in the days, we would go visit when hunger pans come a calling late in the evening or after some evening drinks in the city.
Today, this food haunt is still standing and fighting the tide of times, but it has become too touristy for our liking. Most of the service staff are already foreign workers, and the 'sour faced' local man who used to serve us and take our orders are no longer seen/around.
To be fair, i dont know if it's the food taste/quality that has been compromised or if the if sidewalk dining ambience has changed. Perhaps it's a little of both, BUT i can safely say....its no longer as enjoyable as before nor as affordable. We can only surmise that Jalan Sultan or better known as "Sultan Kai" and the whole Chinatown experience, has changed.....and i think it's largely exaggerated when i settled the bill. Ouch! RM 180 for 4 pax?
The fabric of this sidewalk dining experience has irrevocably changed ....and not for the better. Haish! 😆 🤣

Read moreI only will give 1 star for this shop now. Terrible service, dirty environment and also overrated food.
Firstly, the Yong ToFu is not fresh, there is a overnight odor in the fish paste, and the fried FUZHU and TOFU is not crispy at all, the price for this Yong TOFU is not cheap, it is RM2/pc, with this price and they give you little bit of fish paste only. Second, their famous claypot loushufan, the claypot not even hot and do not have any fragrance from the claypot, somemore the sauce is very salty, it is just average and not worth to try at all if you are visitor travel from far away. Thirdly, their famous siew yok noodle, this one I must say the taste is acceptable and okay, but the siew yok is very hard and difficult to chew, it is not crispy and it is dry. Taste overall above average. The last, the one who serve us, Foreign lady who can speak Cantonese, terrible service that she tried to charge more than what should we pay. The food we ordered only cost RM 45, but she tried to charge me 54. When I told her the price is wrong, and asking her to provide me a receipt to double check the items, and she only give me a handwriting receipt with an item call food and put a lumsum price in total 54 without breakdown. I tried to telling her what we had and explaining the price to her with a open Menu, and she starting to complaining that I am troubling her a lot!

Read moreIn Chinatown or known as Petaling Street in KL, is a place that used to be famous for a lot of nice eatery. However, most of them had turn into commercialize and taste had change over the years including China Town Seng Kee. Used to be one of a famous dinner place in Petaling Street or hotspot for after clubbing. Seng Kee had been operating in this area for easily around 20-25 years.
A great dish that you should not miss is this Stir Fried Intestine which is one of their signature dish. Fried with wok hei and it is punch with flavor on every bite. Chewy yet a bit of heat at the end as it is stir fried with chili padi.
This is one of their famous dish. The Siew Yoke Mee (Roasted Pork Noodles). It is like a must order dish. The noodle is alright and Siew Yoke is not too bad. I still remember that the noodle sauce used to be darker and their siew yuk is more caramelize which is on the stickier side.
If you are a traveler, I think it is worth to pay a visit here if you want some local stir fried street food in KL. Just my...
