I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a place that you can come here for a big meal if you are seriously hungry, yet also an ideal place to come if you just want some light bites.
Their siew bao ( or known as bbq pork bao) is a must-try. Cheong Kee siew bao is very famous in east Malaysia, they have 6 stores there and recently they opened this 7th chain, which is their only chain in west Malaysia.
Their pineapple mochi egg tart is also another must-try item, available in both original and matcha flavors. I was skeptical in the beginning, but oh my....I'm happy that I tried. It's sinfully delicious and not overly sweet. The only downside is that it's quite big, better for 2-3 people sharing. Would be nice if they create a smaller version, let's say a square egg tart, instead of rectangular shape.
I also love their jiggly sponge cake. It's a perfect recreation of what I used to eat when I was a kid. They offer both original flavor and meat floss flavor.
At this place, you can also have different flavors of baos, noodles, and rice. Kindly refer to my photos. This restaurant has gathered all the yummy goodies of highly rated chefs that used to be scattered across KL. Now we can enjoy all of them at the same place!
Service: their service is very good and attentive.
Space: The dining area is very spacious and clean, equipped with lots of fans.
Parking: they have plenty of parking at the back. If you go by car, please turn left at the alley, which is located right next to this resto, you will find plenty of free parking...
Read moreOverrated and overpriced, extremely bad service and bad packing. Saw the restaurant was promoted in FB and wanted to try out, it turned out to be disappointing. Nothing was as good as advertised, cake is not that good as being promoted; the Portuguese tart - even worse, filling was not smooth as I thought and was very sated, don't feel like to continue eating after 2 bites. The tart was small but cost RM3.50 per piece and the cake costs RM5.90 for a cut piece and RM23 for a whole piece, with the bored taste, I don't think it's worth it. The service was bad that the waitresses will show their unhappy faces when we're asking for a better packing. Most ridiculous is that, we've been told that we'll need to buy 3 cakes only to get the cakes packed in a box, otherwise they'll just use a normal plastic bag and dump the cakes inside. I mean, even a small stall seller will use a proper way to pack a piece of cake 😂 All in all, please don't believe what's being promoted lol, IMO it's not worth...
Read moreThis had to be some of the best pastries and buns I've ever had - and I'm from Colombo (Sri Lanka) which itself is a pastry hub of sorts haha. We had the Egg pastry (to-die-for), Char Sui puff, Blueberry Cheese bun and Parmesan Cheese bun - the pastries were soft and flaky and the buns were crispy with soft centres 😋 You can also enjoy a strong milk tea here, which leaves you refreshed 🍃 We also had their 'fluffy' Traditional Cake, the kind that makes its rounds on social media frequently, and it certainly lived up to the hype! 😍 And what's more, we received a complimentary Custard bun to try out, which is a brand new product, and it was lovely as well 🤩 'Cheong Kee Siew Pow' has a range of goods which are definitely on par with the quality service they provide! ✨️ Highly recommend this quaint outlet to anyone who wants to grab a quick and delicious bite, with good value...
