Fan Cai Xiang Vegetarian Restaurant — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I visit this restaurant every time I come to KL. The food is marvelous, filling, and it doesn't leave me wanting like some vegetarian restaurants that I've been to.

Try especially the "eggplant fish", which is a crispy eggplant drizzled in a thick, sweet, dark sauce. It is rich, unctuous, and its flavor lingers in your mouth like a happy memory. The lotus root dish is also a good choice because it is crunchy and savory, and a perfect compliment to the curries and other dishes that they serve.

As for the atmosphere, it has a clean, classical vibe that works together nicely with the neat presentation of the food. When I eat there, it feels like I'm sitting in a classical Chinese painting.

This is an extremely disappointing experience. I found love bugs crawling out of one of my dish. I was unable to take video or picture of the incident as it caught me off guard. The bugs shortly drown in the sauce of the dish. I pointed it out to the server. She said they would make a new one. After awhile, they came out with a ‘new’ dish, but it was just too obvious that they have used the same plate of food, recooked it and plate it out again. What’s worst is… I can still find dead bugs in the dish. They never bother acknowledging it. This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever set foot. Please just do better.
