Yellow box parking available. Open space car park also available. Both chargeable. Even if you park in yellow box parking on weekends, you still have to pay those irrelevant parking attendants. They will guide you into the lot and wait for you to come down from the car. You cannot not pay them because you don't want to come back after lunch/dinner to find your car scratched. Not saying that they do it but there is a "risk".
If you hate this kind of illegal parking attendants, i suggest you park in the open space car park and pay the per entry fee. Usually ranging from rm5-20.
We sat upstairs (main entrance, turn left pass the kuihs, turn first left). Becareful going up and down the stairs, am afraid the wood might give way from the sound of it.
QR code order, you can select preset options for food/drink exp Nasi Lemak, no peanuts, no anchovies etc. But there is no option for More Timun or input remark; Smart but also not Too Smart.
Butter & Kaya Toast Butter Only (rm3.50); i prefer if they toast my bread with butter spread on it instead of plain toast bread with butter on the side.
Butter & Kaya Bun (rm3.90); nice.
Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang (rm13.90); rice is pulut kind, abit dry rendang is nice. Acar is toooo sour.
Sambal Sotong Nasi Lemak (rm13.90); sambal sotong is tooo watery, like drinking soup but taste is okay. I feel the side sambal goes better with the rice as compared to the sotong gravy but i dont like the rice, dry. Acar is tooo sour.
Hainam Chicken Chop (rm16.90); chicken is nice, the crisp shiok. Gravy abit sourish but nice and not yek.
We parked at the yellow box in front of Ho Kow Kopitiam, a short white hair aunty came to collect "parking" fee. We gave her rm2. Im tempted to say, go get a real job. It's really not about the rm2, it's that she does nothing stand in front of empty spots and take free money but shes not the only one.
There is also a indian chap who collects money if you park further down the road, not even yellow box just some made up parking spot. They guide you to park, once it's fully parked...
Read moreI recently had a delightful breakfast experience at KAFEIDIAN in Petaling Street, a charming old post office turned breakfast spot in Kuala Lumpur. The Kaya Toast was a standout, perfectly balanced in flavor with just the right sweetness. What made it special was the DIY aspect, allowing me to spread the Kaya myself, creating a homely and authentic feel.
The yam cake at KAFEIDIAN deserves praise for its generous amount of real yam, steering clear of an overly starchy taste. It was a pleasant surprise to savor the authenticity of the dish. My dad would have loved it.
Moving on to the mains, both the Rendang Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken were served in sizeable portions with some appetising achar and well-balanced shrimp paste chilli that was not overly sweet with a good spicy kick to it. The succulent and flavorful chicken thighs made each bite a delight.
Last but definitely not the least, the Teh-C here was impeccable.. So much so I ordered 3 cups for breakfast. Not only was the flavour and balance of the drink done to perfection, it came pipping hot as well and I could not get enough of it.
KAFEIDIAN truly captures the essence of local fare, making it a must-visit for those seeking a taste of Kuala Lumpur's...
Read moreWe arrived as the queue was just starting to build - 10:30 on a Sunday. They get incredibly busy but do an amazing job at managing the queue and letting in tables of 2 as people leave so they’re not waiting behind larger groups. Outside you’re met with fans and spray mists which keep you cool while waiting. The whole establishment is two-levels so there is plenty of seating.
We ordered the steamed bread with kaya butter, the half boiled eggs, and also the iced cham (tea and coffee). This was a first time experience and we were not disappointed. The steamed bread was so soft, mixed with the kaya spread and butter it resembled a fluffy and light sweet sponge cake. It was such a nice combination. The half boiled eggs were served warm and tasted incredible - the runny yolk with the whites with a dash of salt was a good savoury side. The iced cham was unexpectedly good. I wouldn’t have mixed coffee and tea before coming to Malaysia but not I just might! It tasted incredible. A nice cool drink to go with the rest of our order.
The waiters and waitresses there were very kind and attentive. The cashier was just as sweet. I really enjoyed my experience here. If I’m ever back in KL I’d definitely drop in again and try something else...
