ATTENTION... This is a slightly longer review but bear with me :)

When I say we (me and 16 other guests from my group) loved the experience partying at Concubine on 08/11/24, it's no exaggeration — we LOVED it!

Nico (the owner) was in contact with me since early October, helping me arrange the logistics for my girlfriend's 21st birthday. A 21st birthday is an extremely special occasion, and Nico and the staff knew exactly what to do and got straight to work.

The communication throughout was clear and prompt, which made locking down a date and submitting a deposit painless and hassle-free. The dates had to be changed pretty last minute due to a scheduling conflict, but that was swiftly acknowledged and accommodated by Nico — no sweat!

As for the night itself, the birthday lady and me came slightly later than the 11 p.m. reservation booking, but we were relieved to note that the friendly staff had settled some of the early arriving guests from our party at the assigned seating area. Even the balloons that I brought earlier in the day were neatly arranged in a great location to spark engagement with the guests in my party.

Regarding the customer service aspect, the lady attending to us, Nova, was extremely attentive and helpful. Even though Concubine was quite full that night, she still wrestled her way to us and supported our every request without complaint, even offering plenty of smiles and encouragement throughout the night.

The ambiance that night was its usual blend of excitement and great vibes all-around, with stellar music and fantastic company being the cornerstones of the night's success. Concubine rarely disappoints on this score!

Phew, we've finally made it to the end! All-in-all, the night of November the 8th was a phenomenal success, in no small part to the great management and supporting cast of Concubine KL. I can't recommend this place enough and look forward to returning soon. Thanks again,...

Went there yesterday and I was suggested by the owner regarding the drag show and he informed us it will start at 8pm and the price is 50 per person with 1 free drink. So I did book for the 4 of us. The show started only at 9.15pm and they sold way more tickets than the place could accommodate so we, who had proper tables to sit were unable to watch the show as everyone else were standing in front of us and blocked our view and we couldn’t see a thing. The owner didn’t control the crowd and so we left within 15 minutes after the show started because it’s of no use if you can’t watch the show. I felt that was a total waste of money and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The free drink was mediocre.

The ambience is nice but the place is very very small and can’t accommodate many customer as there were very limited tables.

The paid drinks however, were good. We didn’t order much food only tried they keropok nachos and mushroom bao. Which were decent.

Overall this place is nice for the ambiance and an okay place to chill with good cocktails. Other than that, nothing...

Decided to check this place out after being recommended.

Arrived for 7pm booking and bar is way brighter than expected - spotlights bright. Was given a tiny table of two and reminded of two hours seating. No introduction about the place so we ordered two cocktails (2 persons) and 5 small plates. Cocktails were okay but my negroni was a miss for me as it was trying too hard to be different. Food were interesting but they struggled to place the food on our tiny table despite the entire level 1 being empty - we were forced to eat quicker and stack dishes in similar plates. No offering of second cocktails after 10mins being dry - at one point they have 7 people gathering at the bar, minimum 4 at any given time. Ordered two more GNT - nothing special. Our total damage was about RM500 for two person and we left 50 mins later.

Definitely an attempt to do up the street with ‘cool’ spots but establishments have seemed to forgotten that FNB’s core formula is still food and beverage. Staffs seemed more interested to look and dress cool, rather than being hospitable....

Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown circa 1940, brought back to life in this rustic and two-tiered space. This restaurant and bar bursts with nostalgia and memories of Malaya. Decorated with chinese lanterns, neon lights and local-life paintings, I found this to be the perfect place to celebrate my friend's bachelorette party. Every staff member was helpful in making sure we enjoyed ourselves and they made preparations per my request. Rose was exceptionally helpful and a real angel. She even called before the event to make sure I had the decorations delivered. The tapas-style Asian-fusion dinner menu was perfect for our palettes (I recommend the Xi An Lamb Tostada and the Korean Chicken Wings). Cocktails are infused with fragrant, local flavors and ingredients. We had a table at the balcony and while it was crowded, I think it was a great choice as it does get noisy indoors. Will keep coming back!

What an enjoyable experience! If you thought this was just another hip bar where the cool people hang out, you're in for a surprise. First of all, the food is just heavenly. The foie gras gyoza is something I would order over and over again. I ordered maybe seven small plates (shared with a friend) and each was just as delicious as the last. The short ribs brought me so much joy I forgot, just for a second, that I'd barely been out in 2021. Drinks are pricey but each cocktail is made with such attention to detail it makes you want to order the next one. A great selection of French wines too, if that's your thing. The crowd was a pretty even mix of Malaysians and expats, half the place was filled with regulars. You're advised to make a reservation, and you must be fully vaccinated to come in and make friends. The music wasn't too loud, which is a huge plus. Everything was perfect.

I have watched them renovate the empty space and admired the painting of the 'Concubine' on the wall slowly materialise a couple of years ago. Very happy to see them riding out the lockdown and coming back stronger than ever. My friends love to hang out here whenever they come to this part of the city. It's a logical choice as they have an awesome menu and you can start day drinking super early (my main reason to visit 😉). Aside from the delicious food and great cocktails, I find the service to be excellent and efficient. It also strategically located right smack in the middle of a major tourist attraction and it's fun to just observe visitors and their antics. Looking forward to try all their cocktails (I know - it's shocking that I haven't already).
