I haven't been here ages. And my oh my, how this place has changed tremendously. I am not impressed by the upstairs as it looked cheapened compared to perhaps a decade or more ago but the food court downstairs was an eye opener. I saw signages of old time established eateries, restaurants of the yesteryears, meaning famous for their certain dishes. I went with a small group of us and ordered different dishes. My beef noodles, did taste like the ones I used to have and I felt I got a bargain here as the set was RM 16.50 for a bowl of minced beef noodles, beef ball soup, small plate of vege and a cup of tea. The ala carte noodle was RM 10 and of course if you eat at the coffee shop these days, it could come up to that price as well, depending on location. Since the beef ball were already RM 4.5, I felt I did myself justice by just topping up another RM 2 for the other 2 sides. I also tried their braised duck set which I felt the portion of meat was huge, comes with rice, braised hardboil egg and tofu. That wasn't too bad as well. Their hokkien mee did taste like the famous ones I had in town. And the fourth dish was none other than Kin Kin’s chilli pan mee. I know they had a branch somewhere behind Jalan TAR. They used to be one of the best and reportedly, it was good, like the original. I didn't have a taste so I beg to differ, lolz 😜. Overall, I was awed by what the designer did to the place. You see, even with a tile broken or walls which were stained it don't matter as it won't look out of place as it fits the concept. I must admit when I first got there I thought that was it as at some parts it got a bit cramped but then I discovered a whole new world of more… Walking around was an experience by itself. My group of 3 were also impressed. We felt we got transported in time. Ambience I must say is more than 5 stars! Service? The tables were cleared by cleaners and they were mainly nice, quick and polite. I offered to make their life easier by clearing up my mess but they told me, they will do it. Verdict, I will go back for it's other dishes and to reminisce what the yesteryears felt like.

"Hutong Food Court Review: A Disappointing Culinary Experience" "Our recent visit to Hutong Food Court, inspired by a positive YouTube review, unfortunately proved to be a significant letdown. It became apparent that the venue's primary target audience is tourists, as we noted that a majority of the stalls (approximately 90%) were operated by foreign workers. This observation prompted us to lower our expectations for an authentic local food experience. To provide a fair assessment, we ordered three different dishes from separate vendors. Our findings are as follows: 1)Claypot Foochow Mee Sua (RM25+): This dish was the most disappointing of our selections. It lacked the characteristic and expected aroma of red wine, offering a one-dimensional and overwhelmingly salty flavor profile. The high sodium content made it difficult to consume more than a few bites. 2)Wanton Mee Soup with Dumplings (RM17+): The dumplings were satisfactory; however, the wanton noodles had a powerful and unpleasant alkaline taste, which completely overpowered the broth and other components. This issue significantly impacted the overall enjoyment of the dish. 3)Fried Oyster Omelette (RM19.90): This dish was a poor value for its price. The portion was remarkably small, containing only five tiny, pre-boiled oysters. The omelette itself was bland and lacked the rich, savory flavor one would expect from a proper fried oyster omelette. In summary, Hutong Food Court offers small portion sizes at a premium price. The quality of the dishes we sampled was subpar, lacking the authenticity and flavor that are hallmarks of true Malaysian street food.

Authentic flavors all under one roof! Lot 10 Hutong is a hidden gem in the heart of Bukit Bintang! It’s a curated food court that brings together some of the best heritage hawker stalls from across Malaysia. You’ll find legendary names like Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee, Soong Kee Beef Noodles, and Ho Weng Kee Wantan Mee — all with decades of history. The place is clean, air-conditioned, and well-maintained, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy traditional street food without the heat and crowds. Prices are slightly higher than typical hawker stalls, but it’s worth it for the convenience, authenticity, and nostalgic flavors. As always, we never miss the Bak Kut Teh here! The small bowl may be on the pricey side, but the rich herbal soup and tender meat make it totally worth the value. A must-try every time we visit. Perfect for tourists who want to try famous local dishes in one place, or for locals craving comfort food. 🍜 Great variety 🧼 Clean environment 💳 Cashless payment available 📍 Centrally located Will definitely come back again!

I’m at this stall called 两公婆liang gong po (location near exit) at Lot 10 HuTong (not sure what is the English name of the stall). I can’t find the stall in Google that’s why I’m here writing this review. From all the experience of me trying ice jelly before, this is obviously not ice jelly but ‘ais kacang’ that tastes very bad. The details of me having a unpleasant experience at this stall are as follows:

  1. Taste For traditional ice jelly, the texture should be slices of jelly kept in low temperature as the main element of the dessert to create a cold sensation. However, for this stall it’s entirely shaved ice (not even fine shaved ice but coarse ones) with a big chunk of jelly at the bottom.

All the toppings carry no weight in adding flavours to the ice jelly, if anything then just aesthetic but even for aesthetic it fails (refer to picture attached). Especially for the glutinous rice ball (tang yuan), it’s tasteless and hard. But most importantly, this is not the traditional ice jelly but ice kacang with tasteless jelly inside.

  1. Attitude I was so disappointed for the taste of the ice jelly, thus I tried to approach them to discuss the issues. However, the feedback that I have gotten from them is that they haven’t met any customer that are troublesome like me before. They also mentioned that they have opened their stall here for almost 1 year or more and have no reason to accept my suggestion/feedback. I understand that different stalls will have different styles of making their own dishes but it shouldn’t be so much different from the illustrated pictures and even the toppings on the picture is not matching the product I received.

In my opinion, Lot 10 HuTong is one of the most famous food courts in KL that attracts a lot of tourists and locals. The quality of this stall doesn’t meet...

If it’s in Lot 10 Hutong, it's got to be good ! 檔在胡同, 一定好吃! Keeping Asia's Best Gourmet Heritage Cuisines Strong Under One Roof at Kuala Lumpur's Platinum Award-Winning Heritage Food Village. ⛩🥢 Having been raved about and recommended by scores of foodies as well as the international media, a visit to Lot 10 Hutong is a definite culinary must odyssey into the world of Asian street cuisine. Here are the few I handpicked out of the hundreds of selections of the best local comfort foods that have passed the test of time in Malaysia:

Steamed Chicken Rice Ball Set - This was from Seng Kee, and to be frank it was very disappointing. The steamed chicken was suppose to be a thigh piece but I only got a few small pieces of chicken filled with bones and skin (barely any meat). The main reason I ordered it was for their rice ball as it’s so hard to find rice balls outside. I’ve tried the one in Jonker Street Melaka, and since then I could hardly find restaurants that serve chicken rice ball in KL 🥲 The rice ball here tasted like white rice when it’s supposed to be oil rice?! So that was a big let down because it’s not even chicken rice anymore!! Don’t order this because there’s so many better options in Lot 10 worth trying 😤 Steam Chee Cheong Fun (Shrimp) - I loved this very much!! The rolls were thick with a good bite and filled with plump fresh prawns!! 🍤 The silky rolls were soaked in a savoury soy sauce and no doubt the best part was the shrimp sambal!! It packed a punch of spiciness and an explosion of flavour in every bite 🤤 Pork Siew Bao - The siew bao had a flaky and buttery crust that was baked to perfection with a sweet and savory filling, perfect for your...
