This established and popular kopitiam has ten food stalls offering a good variety of hawker fare.
This review is about the pork balls noodle stall at the entrance of the shop.
To me, this is the best "san kan chong 三间庄" pork balls noodle in town. Best in terms of how the noodle has the right cookness (especially bihun) and how the drizzle sauce has the right ratio of seasoning to give it that powerful umami. Umami which is especially apparent with the dry (gon lou) version.
Needless to say, the rectangular pork balls, sausages and minced meat that come with every bowl are on point -- with the right texture and flavour.
Hailing from one of the famous Jinjang Selatan san kan chong (skc) families, Mr Lee (Ah Ming) has been in this trade for 35 years.
He has been selling skc in Bangsar Lucky Garden for almost three decades.
For many years, his stall name was called Soon Fatt Kee 顺发记 until he changed it to the present Ming Hin 明轩 to reflect his name.
A bowl of delicious and satisfying skc costs RM10. Bentong tofu pok with meat stuffing are also available at RM12 for three pieces.
Iced coffee @ RM3.20 was rich and creamy.
Apart from this stall here, there are now two standalone Ming Hin full-fledged shops selling skc and other fare -- Bukit Jalil (managed by his wife) and Salak South (managed by his brother-in-law).
Business Hours: 730am-330pm daily. Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday consecutively once a month (usually mid-month).
Toilet Score: Usual kopitiam standard.

Foods are okay 8/10.
Service are below average comparing kopitiams 5/10 as they will not clean nor wipe your table (we had to wipe ours with wet n dry wipes)
Cleanliness 3/10 as the floors are quite oily and i suspect its cos the servers are all too busy and not free to mop the floors + tissues or garbage from tables that dropped from the tables
Word of advice ; Be prepared to dine at tables whereby patron just left and the table may be cleaned of the utensils & bowls but it may not be spotless clean as the cloth they use to wipe your tables may also be superbly dirty (Suspect never rinse it at all until off duty)
For big eaters, Big portion may not be enough for you. as seen in the pictures, the noodles seemed like a small portion that you can get outside. For super small eaters. Small portion might just be ngam ngam for you and no more.
Drinks are okay but remember to order less ice if you wish to drink more ml of water, without calling for less ice, your drinks would be 15-20% of the cup's size and the rest laden with ice. which means one mouthful of water will make your cuppa drink close to 50% lesser.
Poorly ventilated, It's like a sauna in here. I literally sweat profusely just from a lunch here even though it is raining heavily outside.
Parking wise must remember to purchase parking timer (best bet tng for easy and fast parking payment) or else the MPSJ will be coming to issue summons (electronically which means no paper will be put on your car windscreen and thats not a good thing)
Hope this helps...
Read moreFirstly, I ordered shredded chicken noodles but was quietly given chicken thigh instead, without any prior notice. Only later did I realise I was charged an extra RM1 for it. It’s not about the RM1, but the fact that honesty from the vendor seems to be worth so little is quite unfortunate.
Secondly, the beverage stall did not return my change. I had to approach them to ask for it, only to be told they were preparing the loose notes. If you’re short on change, it’s your responsibility to inform customers — not wait until someone chases you for it. If I hadn’t gone back to ask, would they have just kept quiet and hoped I’d forget?
Very disappointing experience overall. A bit of transparency and basic honesty would...
