Madame Kwan's commitment to authenticity shines through in every dish. Opting for the Laksa was an inspired choice; the rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles transported me to the heart of Malaysia. My wife's selection of Wonton Soup was equally delightful—each bite bursting with savory goodness. The attention to detail in preserving the essence of Malaysian flavors was truly commendable.
One might expect an authentic culinary experience to come with a hefty price tag, but Madame Kwan's pleasantly surprised us. The quality and quantity of the dishes, combined with the upscale ambiance and attentive service, made every penny spent feel entirely justified. Madame Kwan's delivers a premium dining experience without breaking the bank.
The staff at Madame Kwan's deserve special mention for their attentiveness and warm hospitality. From recommendations to ensuring our glasses were never empty, the service was impeccable. The genuine smiles and eagerness to make our dining experience exceptional left a lasting impression.

Read moreI dined in at the pavillion bukit bintang outlet, we came in around 12pm. We were seated immediately, that was good. We were given QR code and immediately ordered. Unfortunately things were a little downhill from there. I am dining in with my family and my mother is very hungry, she really wants to try the nasi lemak. We were served first with the char kuey teow and then I received my beef kungpao. The char kuey teow lacks color and I don't think it looks as good as how I had it previous branch and lacks garnishing like the bean sprouts and the spring onions. It doesn't look appetising. My beef kungpao on the other hand it does taste good but I don't think the portion is worth at its price point. While we had already received 2/3 main dishes ordered, my mother was still waiting for her nasi lemak for more than 15 minutes. There was nothing being informed to us as to the delay and we had to raise our hands many times to get the attention of one of the waiters. When the nasi lemak finally arrived, my mother was really disappointed with the state of the beef rendang. It totally looks like some pulled or flossed meat which looks like filling for steamed buns or what is used for dried beef serunding. It does not look like in the menu picture and nothing in the menu description says this is a special type of pulled or flossed beef rendang. It looks like it was totally overcooked and there was no attention to presenting the rendang on the plate, esoecially for such a big house name like Madam Kwans, which apparently is highly sought after by foreign tourists. I would not let my foreign friends eat this as their first impression of beef rendang. However the waiters claim that this was totally normal and the beef rendang is cooked as intended. I am disappointed with the treatment and the state of the beef rendang which ruined our experience here. I am also disappointed that the waiter just hands over a google review QR code as if it resolves what had happened. Will not dine here next time. There was no sense of empathy or EQ. I feel like the treatment and feedback from the waiters were very uncalled for. We are VERY...
Read moreI would like to share my recent dine-in experience at your Pavilion KL branch, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations.
I arrived at the restaurant around 9:15 PM, and our order was finalized by approximately 9:24 PM. We ordered the Cantonese Kuey Teow and Garlic Ginger Beef with Rice. Although the restaurant was not too crowded at that time and customers were gradually leaving as the mall was nearing its closing time, the service was surprisingly slow.
The Garlic Ginger Beef with Rice only arrived at around 10:00 PM, which is quite late considering the lighter crowd. More concerning was the delay with the Cantonese Kuey Teow, which didn’t arrive even after I had followed up with a waitress. I was informed it was still being prepared.
Due to the long wait and the mall already closing down, I decided to proceed with the payment and cancel the remaining dish. However, the cashier checked with the kitchen and told me that the dish was “baru siap” (just ready), which I found frustrating—at that point, I had already waited too long and was no longer in the mood to dine.
Frankly, I was disappointed. Given the premium pricing of your menu, I expected a better dining experience with prompt and efficient service. I understand it was close to closing hours, but customers who arrive before the cut-off time still deserve timely service and quality food.
I urge the manager and kitchen team on duty that night to revisit the operational workflow and identify what went wrong. As a well-known restaurant and a popular spot for both locals and tourists, I believe Madam Kwan’s should consistently uphold its standards, especially during peak and closing hours.
Thank you, and I sincerely hope to see noticeable improvements...
