Sarastro KL by Millennium — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I recently dined at Sarastro KL by Millennium, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This gem of a restaurant truly lives up to its reputation!

Atmosphere: The ambiance was inviting and warm, with tasteful decor that strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The soft lighting and soothing background music created an ideal setting for a relaxed meal.

Service: The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and their knowledge of the menu was impressive. They offered great recommendations and ensured our glasses were never empty.

Food: The real star of the evening was, of course, the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I started with the SALAD AND MUSHROOM SOUP , the dressing for the salad was awesome and make the salad more tasty,The mushroom soup is a velvety, earthy delight, rich with the deep umami flavor of sautéed mushrooms and accented by subtle notes of garlic and thyme, creating a comforting and savory experience. .For the main course, I had the FISH & CHIPS, The fish and chips feature crispy, golden-battered fish with a tender, flaky interior, paired with perfectly crisped fries, all served with a tangy malt vinegar and a side of creamy tartar sauce for a classic and satisfying pub meal.

Value: Considering the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience, SARASTRO offers excellent value for money. It’s clear that they take great pride in their craft.

My family and I chose this restaurant — which has a nice ambiance — with high hopes to celebrate a birthday, but we were left with this kind of experience. We won’t be coming back again.

We looked at the menu for over 10 minutes and were just about to place our order when we were informed which items were unavailable (shouldn’t this have been mentioned when the menu was first given to us?). The menu had two sections, and at least 10 items were not available — is this the kind of service a proper high-end restaurant should provide?

We ordered a chocolate cake and asked if they could write "Happy Birthday" on it. It was fine when they said they couldn’t, but not long after, they came back and told us the chocolate cake was no longer available (how could it already be unavailable right at the beginning of service? We had even asked before making the reservation whether they had cake, and they told us chocolate cake was available).

The food also came out slowly — we waited for a long time and there were no staff on standby to provide service. Even in a high-end place like this, they didn’t provide sky juice. We had to pay a RM200 deposit just to reserve a table, yet this is the kind of service we received… Truly...

messaged them on instagram using their readily available “enquire” feature since last thursday (9/1) didn’t even bother to reply even when i’d already left comments on two of their instagram posts to please check their dm.

so i had no choice but to call in on sunday (12/1) and told them i needed to make a reservation and would like to take a look at their cocktail menu, person on the phone said sure their manager will whatsapp me, that same night on sunday, my dm on instagram finally got replied to, saying “I believe one of our team members is assisting you on this matter.”, and when i replied right after that no one had gotten back to me about my enquiry nor whatsapp-ed me like the person on the phone say they would, they just didn’t bother to even my open message until now - 15/1 when THEY’RE ACTIVELY POSTING ON THEIR INSTAGRAM AND INSTAGRAM STORIES 😒
