I’ll be honest, this is definitely not your usual Malaysian bakkutteh. While yes I understand that taste is very subjective, but it is definitely not the usual taste that is local. However, that being said, I can imagine how a lighter taste can be appealing to the general public, especially if you’re from overseas where a really strong herbal taste or spicy taste isn’t quite your thing. The food pricing is definitely on the higher side, with rm27 for a single bakkutteh portion. However, it is worth noting that the portion is rather alright, the pork intestine was very well made. Service wise, pretty decent. The aunties there really don’t seem like they care much, but they are efficient nonetheless. They also offer to add additional soup should you need more, the manager very kindly added some for us without us asking. Atmosphere is great. While not posh looking, it’s clean and tidy. They also offer a choice of outdoor fan seatings, and indoor air conditioned seatings, should you be one of the weak ones who require air conditioning. Overall we had 1 portion of soup bakkutteh, 1 portion of dry bakkutteh, 1 vegetable dish, 1 rice, 1 youtiao (it’s a kind of fried dough, honestly I’ve had much better ones), and a pot of tea. We totalled at RM91, which once again, definitely on the higher side of pricing. However as a tourist, if you’re in KL and you want something close by and tourist friendly to try bakkutteh, by all means give it a go. However if you’re looking for some serious bakkutteh, you’re probably going to need to go to Klang or something (it’s like an hour drive). Overall, it’s a nice place to visit for tourist, but as a local I probably won’t visit again if I had no...

Sun Fong Bak Ku Teh is formally known as Sun Hong Muk Koot Tea. They started their long since the 1960s, this place has drawn lots of Hong Kong & Taiwanese tourists. And many superstars had left their footprints and mouthprints here. Now the restaurant is proudly hanging their photos with the celebs to the patrons. The "Wall of Fame" is full of snapshots of celebrities who've been here, as well as politicians including a former Thai prime minister.Their Bak Ku Teh is the main attraction. It's tasty and worth checking out, but you'll probably find better versions elsewhere in KL or PJ.

Coming for a Bak Ku Teh meal, Yao Cha Guai (Oil Fried Ghost) is a must must. As for their Tau Foo Pok, it’s just a common dish and nothing special about it. To try their Bak Ku Teh, they always recommend the yam rice. It’s kinda clumpy. Kinda so so too..Then the Pig’s Kidney and Liver in Ginger Wine Soup, the soup is tangy and not much patrons would like to eat this delicacy. I ordered additional side dish like this Pork Intestine, the intestine taste good and soup wise is abit light. And then there’s another delicacy, the Pig’s Trotter in Black Vinegar, quite a popular Hakka dish. The dish is flavorful and delicious, however not the best one in town.

Overall: 5/7 Pretty decent BKT venue for breakfast. Quite popular early in the morning with people bringing crowds of 10+ people in. By 11 on Sunday it was full but there are lots of tables. Relatively expensive location though, with surcharge not included on menu items.

Original bak kuh teh: 4 Combo of all kinds of port meats in a slightly medicinal soup. The medicine taste was quite light and overall dish is fairly tasty. Would get a more specific meat next time, rather than the broad mix of everything.

Dry BKT: 5/7 Mix of pork meats in a dark soy base all cooked together. The skin was a bit undercooked and still tough. But everything else was well cooked and tasty.

Fried scallion tofu: 6/7 Well executed dish where the tofu was the right texture of soft yet maintaining enough texture to be picked up by chopsticks. Accompanying sauce was also good that went very well with rice.

Braised fried tofu: 4/7 Pretty good but there’s nothing particularly remarkable about it. Good if you want something quick and easy.

Fried dough, you tiao: 3/7 Not well executed. It wasn’t crispy/crunchy. Still good for dipping into the various saucy...
