This restaurant is not called Youmiqi Elite for nothing. It does great food BUT you gotta have deep pockets to dine here!
The highlight of the meal was easily the Shunde Seafood pot. It is the one dish that is ordered at nearly every table. Even the dining table is designed to accommodate this hot pot. The soup was delicious and you pick what you would like to add to the soup. By the end, you would have a soup full of umami.
Fried intestines were good too if you are into innards. As was the fried cabbage Hunan style, fried brinjal with bean paste and fried omelette. The roasted chicken was excellent - meat was tender despite it being a kampung chicken. Done in two styles, the Nian gao was extraordinary. The only blot to the quality of the food was the Shunde scallion pancake. They were tiny and did not have the scent nor the taste of scallions.
Service was spotty. One of us was vegetarian and she ordered a sour and spicy soup but it was not meatless. We sent the soup back and despite many reminders, the soup finally reappeared 45 mins later.
Despite the quality, I won't be rushing back. A meal here will easily set you back RM200. Ours was RM160 per head but we skipped all seafood except for the Shunde hot pot which...
Read moreCame here on Sunday with my family (three people) to try their dim sum, which is served from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The service was efficient, and the dim sum was served at a good pace rather than all at once, ensuring that each dish remained hot and fresh.
I personally like and recommend trying their Siu Mai, Sui Jing Ha Gao, Lobak Gou (radish cake) – the flavors of the shrimp and radish come through beautifully. Their Lau Sha Bao(charcoal salted egg yolk bun) is a must-try, with a generous amount of rich, molten filling that flows perfectly when you take a bite.
The manager, Jacky, was very attentive and recommended some of their best dishes, making our dining experience even better. The ambiance was pleasant, with soft background music creating a relaxing atmosphere. I appreciate that the restaurant was not noisy or crowded at all, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
Looking forward to coming back to try...
Read moreHad dim sum lunch. Quiet place, easy parking on site.
1 star review because of their attitude and food safety concerns. The filling of the yam puff (芋饺) tasted like blue cheese. After consulting with the chef, it was confirmed that no cheese or fermented ingredients were used, so it must be a case of spoilt food. This is a serious issue for any restaurant, but the attitude of all staff members was extremely disappointing. They were neither apologetic nor defensive, it felt like they did not care.
Suffered from food poisoning!
To be fair, the other dim sum dishes were not bad and of reasonable price.
Atmosphere: High class but there were flies.
Will not return due to their attitude (not serious at...
