I recently visited Tommy le Bake with high hopes of indulging in a delightful breakfast experience. Unfortunately, my visit left me feeling rather disappointed and underwhelmed. While the café had a charming ambiance and friendly staff, the food itself failed to live up to expectations.
Let's start with the toast, which was touted as one of their specialties. I must admit, it was a letdown. The toast lacked the desired crispness and was just average in taste. It lacked that buttery goodness and fluffiness that one looks for in a quality toast. It seemed like a missed opportunity to showcase their baking prowess.
Moving on to the onion soup, I had heard good things about it, but it turned out to be quite a letdown. The soup lacked depth and flavor. It was evident that the soup lacked the care and attention required to create a truly satisfying dish deserving of its price.
Now, let's talk about the kaya custard toast, which unfortunately fell victim to being overhyped and overpriced. While the toast itself was decently prepared, the exorbitant price tag left a sour taste in my mouth. The portion size was disappointingly small, making it hard to justify the steep price for what essentially amounted to 2 slices of toast with a dollop of custard. The lack of value for money was truly disheartening.
On a positive note, the café had a semi pleasant atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, it's important to note that an inviting ambiance alone cannot compensate for the lackluster...
Read moreI can’t say I like this place cause having a high expectations of getting a quality sandwich. Ordered tons of them to try and the online menu isn’t intuitive cause some items offer half portion some full so there are. Many double boxes such as grilled cheese and soft mozzarella.
Eggplant one is a disastrous. I love eggplants but this is undercook—tasteless. It’s not about the eggplants. It’s the execution that’s disappointing.
The bread ain’t something I would expect for a Levant bread shop.
I love the eco friendly packaging even tho they are not eye pleasing.
However, overall, the sandwiches aren’t up to par. Apart from the eggplants, artichoke one is plentiful but taste is not there to critique. The chicken one on baguette isn’t up to standard. Comparable with Subway. Just saying that so you don’t have a high hope for this place. Perhaps eating at the store would be better? However, sandwich is sandwich is sandwich. They should hold up for stand of time. This chicken sandwich is a disappointment imo.
Even tho I was fine w the under seasoned ingredients, I could just eat the bread alone w the spreads. But this is not the case for me.
Overall, no satisfied with over 140 dollars...

Came here with a group of friends (6 of us) and each of us ordered our own sandwiches, drinks and on top of that a croissant and muffin to share.
Sat there for about 2hrs to enjoy the lunch since some of the sandwiches took a while to be served.
It was a pretty quiet Saturday afternoon without any visible queue outside and by the the time we were done it’s almost 2.30pm. However, the waiters were very eager to take away our plates the moment we took our last bite. We get it that you wanted us to leave.
BUT the last straw for us was when we were leaving and said thanks to one of the waiter, he just retorted coldly “You guys sat for a very long time”. No thank you nothing.
All I can say was that we are a group of 6 adults dining in for 2 hours while some of your sandwiches took more than 20mins to be prepared so I guess it’s pretty standard dining hour?
Anyway, if you feel like some of us were taking longer than usual then please impose a strict dine in time limit so that you can manage all parties expectations well.
Definitely will not be coming back here again since there’s no wow factor to the sandwich and the taste is mediocre (or bitter after receiving such...
