I m a food lover especially Chinese. There is quite limited of Chinese Fine dining. I m not favour those 5 star hotel Chinese food those are more to show than eat. Worth for money n nice all the while is Oriental restaurant group set. When I come staycation in KL, Initially wanted to try noble house since tried b4 n was great but this time give a try on this because highly rated n their consultant was a retired. I was traveling with my wife, 2 kids n 1 toddlers. Hence I ordered this 4 pax set. I texted the restaurant to confirm this set to save time. When I reached the restaurant was nice, but the entrance is bit at side when rains is difficult to park n let ppl get down. The entrance is nice design for photo. It was quite crowded considering we reached at 6 pm. Immediately I asked the lady captain serve my dishes. We waited for almost 15m, I keep chasing, then something is wrong almost 25m the table that came n ordered later than us is eating. I supposed the captain is assigned to particular tables. Ours is a lady but keep missing in action when we called the other man that serving the tables behind us was so attentive to them but kinda no fxxx us. We kept making noise till almost 645 our first dish is served. The first look really disappointed I didn't even take a photo of it. Just like typical dish in normal restaurant which is the radish cake. Anyway we were hungry n kids already starting to make noise. Then the next meal is duck meat with bun...also quite disappointing cos the duck meat seems like those u can get from frozen store. Next is the vege, fish n rice. All out. These 3 super oily n salty especially the fish n rice u can c from the photos. Really nothing to shout about it the taste is so so n the presentation was too normal really doesn't worth the money. I believe those captain seems dog eyes cos we r small customer they just por lp cb those big table n room reservation type. There are so many foreigners staff but become vase I kept need to pour my own tea. Even when the table is oily, asked the man captain to help wipe , he passed the clothes to my wife to wipe. Really knn..u should deduct all service tax. N lady captain saw her serving those room guest when I went to toilet. The final desert sweet like drinking sugar water then the lady captain finally appeared n apologise n served us the kuai fa kou, that totally no taste. One too sweet one no taste 😭. Really waste my money should have just go to noble house. Another thing to note this is not serve individual portion like noble house.

In case if you want try some thing nice n money is not a factor, don't come here. Noble house or Han room much better. Highly...

Extremely disappointed experience- My husband and I are incredibly disappointed with our dining experience at this restaurant. We had just completed our marriage registration at KLSCAH, which is conveniently located next to the restaurant. We had reserved a total of 5 tables for 54 people for our post-marriage luncheon, expecting a smooth and enjoyable celebration. Unfortunately, this experience was far from what we had hoped for.

From the start, our guests and family members felt uncomfortable due to the manager's rude and aggressive behavior. The manager repeatedly pushed our guests to start their meals, even when some of them were still waiting for others to arrive or were talking amongst themselves. The pressure to eat and hurry up was incessant, and it made the experience extremely unpleasant for everyone. Instead of giving us the chance to manage things ourselves or speaking to our close family members who were in charge, the manager decided to repeatedly pressure everyone in a very disrespectful manner. This created unnecessary tension during what should have been a joyous occasion.

To make matters worse, we were pressured to start our luncheon while there were still other diners at the tables. Our family members noticed that the last guests had not yet left, yet we were being rushed to begin. It felt unfair and inconsiderate, especially since we knew the restaurant had a break at 3pm, but that did not give them the right to treat our guests so poorly.

Another issue was the lack of attention to a simple favor I had asked. I had requested that the restaurant staff place a bag of door gifts on the tables for my guests, but they simply left the bag on the table and did not bother to distribute them. Our family had to take matters into their own hands and distribute the goodies themselves, which added further frustration to an already unpleasant experience.

Lastly, the food was just awful. The majority of the dishes were overwhelmingly salty and far below expectations. This was meant to be a memorable, happy day for us, surrounded by our loved ones. Instead, it was ruined by the restaurant's poor service and unprofessionalism.

We are truly disappointed and regret choosing this place to celebrate such a special day in our lives. We hope that future customers avoid this restaurant to ensure that their celebrations remain joyful and...

Beautifully renovated space, but the dining experience didn’t quite match the ambience. The flavours felt more like casual dai chow fare rather than refined cuisine, which might not be what some guests expect in such a polished setting.

Many of the dishes unfortunately lacked depth of flavour and didn’t deliver on authenticity. For eg, the saliva chicken was missing the signature numbing spice and heat that defines the dish. The Shanghai smoked fish completely missed the mark - it lacked the crisp texture and smokiness you’d expect, and instead tasted more like fish slices in a sweet sauce. We also had the soup, but the flavour was unpleasant - the fish maw had a rancid note that was hard to ignore, which made the dish difficult to enjoy. Had to request for coriander to mask the taste. Wrong.

As someone who has explored regional Chinese cuisine extensively, especially these particular dishes - I was disappointed by how far some of them strayed from the traditional preparations. If the recipes are intentionally adapted, it might be worth considering a different name or description, as expectations for these classic dishes come with strong cultural and culinary context.

Nevertheless, not all is entirely poor - the oven baked Iberico ribs were perfectly done. Min 1kg - RM188.

We booked a private room with a minimum spend of 1k but were quite surprised by the lack of soundproofing - it’s essentially just a partition, so you can hear everything going on outside and vice versa.

On the plus point, the wine glasses were decent and the tableware matched the aesthetic. However, the overall experience felt quite average and didn’t leave a strong impression. Service during opening hour was OK as well.

But one thing to note: the restaurant closes at 10pm, and the staff subtly reminded us of that as they brought the bill. It felt like they were ready to wrap up the evening before we were, so it’s probably not the best spot if you’re looking to linger or enjoy a longer night out.

I cannot find a reason to return another time as the prices doesn’t match the quality...
